As we observe National Migration Week, we join the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in reflecting on the dignity, value, and potential of every migrant child.

For generations, the Catholic Church has accompanied migrant and refugee children and families, from the compassionate work of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini to the efforts of Catholic agencies serving communities today. This year's theme reminds us to recognize the presence of Christ in each child and to uphold their God-given dignity through care, compassion, and support.

At Catholic Charities of East Tennessee, we remain committed to walking alongside immigrant and refugee families as they navigate challenges, build stability, and pursue opportunities for a brighter future. We echo the call to promote family unity, reunification whenever possible, and policies that protect the well-being of children.

Together, we can help create welcoming communities where every child and family is treated with dignity, respect, and hope.

Another busy day serving our community! ❤️🇺🇸

Today, our DOJ Accredited Representative, Jacquie, had the opportunity to participate in TWO community events in the same day—first at Clifton Hills Elementary and now here at East Lake Elementary in Chattanooga, TN.

It’s a great reminder that serving our community sometimes means being in more than one place, wearing many hats, and making the most of every opportunity to connect with the families we serve. 🫶🏽

Two events. One day. One mission: connecting our immigrant community with trusted information and resources. 🇺🇸🤝🏽

We are proud to show up, stay connected, and be present where our community needs us. 💙
