πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Our 8-Week Exchange Delegates Have Arrived in Japan! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

We're excited to report that our Tennessee 4-H 8-week outbound exchange delegates have arrived safely in Japan!

The journey was long, but thankfully uneventful. The group successfully navigated passport control and customs before making their way to the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo, where they enjoyed a well-deserved night's rest and began their orientation activities.

Yesterday was an exciting milestone as the delegates met their host families and began settling into their new homes and communities. On Monday morning, they will ride the train into Shinjuku to begin their intensive Japanese language classes, marking the start of the next chapter of their cultural immersion experience.

Over the coming weeks, they will strengthen their language skills, build lifelong friendships, experience daily life in Japan, and serve as ambassadors for Tennessee 4-H and the United States.

Let the adventure begin! πŸŒβœˆοΈπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Two Tennessee 4-H members are flying from Seattle today for an 8-week homestay experience in Japan. Nathan (Davidson County) and John (Overton County) will live with two host families during their 8-week stay. During their first month, they will take Japanese language classes in Tokyo. In the second month, they will move to a new host family in a different part of Japan and continue their cultural immersion experience. They are among 16 4-Hers and two chaperones from across the USA participating in the exchange sponsored by States’ 4-H International Exchange Programs.
