We were finally able to get Porter (Gunner’s little brother) in to have the laparoscopic gastropexy done last month. We invaded the enemy lines to have it done (Roll Tide); that’s how important it is. The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine did a great job taking care of him. We were originally told he would have to stay overnight but when we got there they told us he could go home same day. We were so grateful to be able to bring him home with us that night. The next morning he was moving around a little bit, had his meds and a few sips of water. He started eating the next day and had his first bm on day 3 after the surgery. On day 10, the vet cleared him which we were thankful for because he was feeling so good he wouldn’t sit still. By 2 weeks after, he was running full speed. Today, almost a month later, he is living his best life. ❤️
Cash (Porter’s 13 month old Newfiedoodle brother)was so confused and wanted to play which is why Porter had to stay in the crate for a little while. Knowing it’s highly unlikely we will have to go through what we went through with Gunner makes it worth it. We will have them do the gastropexy on Cash when he is fixed.
