In Loving Memory of Christy Ann Cheverton
Our beloved friend and CHN team member, Christy Cheverton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.
To know Christy was to be loved by Christy.
Over the years, Christy became such a special part of the CHN family. She didn’t simply serve alongside us—she poured her heart into the people God brought through our doors. She prayed over and prayed with hundreds of missionaries. She massaged tired hands, gave countless hugs, shed tears with those who were hurting, celebrated with those who were rejoicing, and loved people so genuinely and generously.
Christy had a remarkable gift for making everyone she met feel like family. You never felt like a stranger around her. You felt seen. You felt welcomed. You felt cared for. And most of all, you felt loved.
Her ministry was not always found in big or visible moments. So often, it was in the quiet ones—a hand held, a prayer whispered, a hug given at just the right moment, or a listening ear when someone simply needed to be heard. Christy understood that sometimes the most powerful way we can serve Jesus is simply by loving His people well.
For so many missionaries who passed through CHN, Christy will forever be part of their story. They may remember a conversation, a prayer, a massage, a laugh, or an embrace, but behind each of those memories was the same thing: Christy’s genuine love for people and her desire to reflect the heart of Jesus.
We will miss her deeply—not only as a treasured member of the CHN team, but as our friend.

They capture the woman we knew and loved so well: a woman who loved her family fiercely, served her Savior faithfully, and made the world around her a little more like home.
Christy, thank you for loving so well. Thank you for serving so faithfully. Thank you for every prayer, every hug, every tear, every laugh, and every life you touched.
We rejoice that you are now home with Jesus, even as we grieve the enormous space your absence leaves behind.
