Our annual FwFHH Winter Wonderland took place on December 13, 2025 and because of YOU, we raised $1,376 in donations!

Every dollar raised is already being put toward this year’s event scheduled to take place on December 12, 2026.

To everyone who donated, bid on the auctions, volunteered your time and the public who showed up and supported. Thank you. Truly. The turnout and overall community effort meant more than we can say. There aren’t many 100% free, family-friendly Christmas events in our area, and we’re incredibly proud to be one of them.

We’re already working behind the scenes to make 2026 the biggest one yet. We’re securing a location, built an amazing volunteer team, and planning:
✨ More entertainment
📸 More photo opportunities
🎨 More crafts
🎄 Even more holiday cheer

We’re also developing our special VIP experience for families and children in need this year. We can’t wait to share more details in the coming months.

Fun with Friends Helping Hands is partnering with Dorothy Clark at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville to provide crocheted & knitted lap-size afghans to local infusion centers.
These blankets go directly to patients receiving treatment — offering comfort, warmth, and a reminder that someone cares. 💕
✨ We’re building a community of crafters to help create an inventory of handmade afghans.
✨ Quarterly collections at our local FWF events.
✨ You’ll even be notified when your blanket is given to a patient in need.
🧵 Blanket Guidelines:
• Approx. 36” x 48” (lap size)
• New or very gently used
• Clean & fragrance-free
• Acrylic yarn preferred (hypoallergenic & easy to wash)
Not a crocheter or knitter? You can donate approved yarn instead!

It was request that we recap the last four years of the tired Santa photos from each of our Memory Makers Winter Wonderland Event. This event is our main focus each year to bring Christmas joy to foster kids and their families and to give back to the community by providing a fun and festive event that is free to all.

This event each year only happens for two reasons the support of those who donate money and items to the event and the incredible group of volunteers who put their time and energy into this event starting in January right after the event all the way up to the event in December. There is an active committee that plans the event and then our amazing volunteers who devote their time to working the event, form setup to running craft tables and everything in between.

I want to give a shout to all those who helped and volunteered this year. Each of one of you stepped in and stepped up when we needed you the most to help us get this event going and it is truly appreciated. I know this is a labor of love for all involved and this year laid the groundwork for 2026 to be bigger and better.

Thank you to all our donors who contributed items or funds to help with auctions and cost. FwF Soft Ball league is a huge supporter through fundraising and places like Better When Baked owned by Heather Lynn McCarthy who donates and bakes 100's of cookies for decorating and just amazing. Thank you to Nashville Irish Step Dancers and The Knoxville Flute Ensemble - Karen Hamilton and Shelby Cornell for performing at this year's event. I am sure I have missed people because I play a small role in all this but know that you are valued, appreciated and you help make a difference.

For me I get the honor of being Santa at these events and the past four years of doing this have been amazing and fills my soul every year with what Christmas is all about.

Looking forward to year 2026 and #5.

Hello,
The weekend is done and so comes an end to our third annual Winter Wonderland Event, a part of our Memory Maker program. Memory Makers is a program that seeks to provide assistance to disadvantaged kids and their families primarily in the foster care system by providing needed items but also unique and fun experiences they might not otherwise have access to.

This event would not be achieved without you the community supporting and donating to the cause to thank you to all those who donated items and monetarily to help us pull this event off, just a few shout outs to some of our donors: Fun with Friends Sports Softball community, Nick Blackledge with Blackledge Distributors for lunch and drinks, Heather Lynn Macarthy at Better When Baked for the sugar cookies, Christmas tree donations from : Hexagon Brewing, Carolina Ale House, Almost Anywhere Travel, Dream Vacations, Fantasy Casino Events, Pizza Hoss of Karnes, and Scentsy by Shanna . A huge shout out to Luis Perez of Luis Perez Photos

Thank you to the performers that Volunteered their time to come out and entertain everyone, The Sunshine Ambassadors, Knoxville Flute Ensemble, and Knoxville Irish Step Dancers!

Thank you to all of the volunteers and coordinators that gave of their time and energy to ensure this event happened. A big shout to LG Davis C Perry, Sabrina Schuhmacher, and Frankie Lee.

Thank you again to you the community for supporting our efforts. We raise and additional $450 at the event to help us continue to do this event and others.
