🌱 Why Deeply Rooted?

The strongest growth often begins where no one can see it.

In relationships built over time. In a community that shows up consistently. In opportunities that open new possibilities. In the strategic steps families take toward the futures they envision.

Those are the roots we’ll celebrate at this year’s Restoring Hope Luncheon.

Because while we love celebrating the milestones, the degree earned, the new career, the home purchased, we also know those moments are part of a much bigger story.

🩵 Join us September 30 as we celebrate the deep roots behind lasting growth.

🩵 Learning is better together.

This week, a team from Vista Village in Columbus, Ohio traveled to Knoxville specifically to experience our Cost of Thriving and learn more about The Restoration House.

While our organizations serve different populations, we share a commitment to dignity, intentional community, and long term stability. We’re grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices, and learn from one another.

Thank you, @, for making the trip! We’re grateful to be learning alongside you.

🩵 Strong women. Meaningful opportunities. Lasting impact.

On Women’s Equality Day, we celebrate the women in our community who are setting goals, earning degrees and certifications, advancing in their careers, purchasing homes, leading their neighbors, raising families, and creating the futures they envision.

At The Restoration House, we believe women already possess incredible strengths. Our role is to walk alongside them as they identify their goals and take strategic steps toward them.

Because when women have opportunities to thrive, the impact reaches far beyond one person. It strengthens families, workplaces, and entire communities.

💬 Tag a woman whose strength and leadership inspire you.

Remember Brynn and her offer to help moms with their cars? 🚗🩵

Well, her influence started before the workshop even happened.

Brynn’s Family Advocate worked alongside her for about three years, and cars came up a lot. Brynn knew how to fix them, talked about what she was learning, and wasn’t afraid to get under the hood herself.

Then her Family Advocate's car broke down.

After getting the issue diagnosed, she thought, “Maybe I can actually do this.”
So she watched a tutorial, grabbed her youngest son, and together they fixed it themselves.

About $230 saved.

The first person she texted afterward? Brynn.

“You inspired me to do this myself.”

This is one of the things we mean when we talk about reciprocity at The Restoration House. Everyone comes into community with strengths, knowledge, and something to offer. The learning doesn’t only move in one direction.

And now Brynn is getting ready to share that same confidence with even more moms and teens through a basic car maintenance workshop at the Village.

One person shares what she knows, someone else realizes what she can do, and the ripple keeps going. 🩵

Sometimes community comes full circle. 🩵

Brynn knows her way around a car. While living at The Restoration House, she was often the person willing to help when someone had a car question or problem.

Now, as an alumna, Brynn wants to give back by being someone moms can call when car trouble comes up.

She’s also helping us plan a basic car maintenance workshop for moms and teens at the Village, passing along practical skills they can use for years to come. 🚗

This is what we love about community. Everyone brings strengths, knowledge, and experiences that can be shared with others.

🔧 What’s a skill someone passed on to you?

🎓🩵 A $35,000 investment in what comes next.

We are incredibly grateful to the Women's Fund of East Tennessee for awarding The Restoration House a $35,000 Network Grant focused on removing barriers to post secondary education and career training for single mothers.

This funding will strengthen the individualized support moms receive as they identify education and career pathways, create step by step plans, navigate school and training systems, and continue working toward the goals they have chosen.

And because sometimes it's the practical things that can derail a plan, this investment can also help with barriers like emergency childcare, transportation, books, technology, testing fees, and certification costs.

Thank you, Women’s Fund of East Tennessee, for investing in moms as they build careers and create lasting opportunities for themselves and their children. 🩵

Here's to more doors opening, and more moms ready to walk through them. 🎓
