In a world full of noise, Positive Media Day gives us a chance to focus on what matters: sharing hope, lifting others, and pointing people toward help.

That’s why The Salvation Army Knoxville uses every communication tool we have: social media, website, and newsletters, to reach as many people as possible with messages of encouragement, ways to serve, local updates, volunteer opportunities, and resources for families.

Our channels are here for you!📰

Huge thanks to every person who follows along, shares, and helps spread good news in our community.

Today, we celebrated Majors Cameron and Paula Henderson’s final Sunday at the Knoxville Corps.

Over the past five years, they led with faith, compassion, and a clear commitment to serving others in the name of Jesus Christ. Under their leadership, lives were changed, families found hope, and our ministry grew stronger in both purpose and impact.

The Hendersons leave behind a Knoxville Area Command that is stronger than they found it and well-positioned to continue the work ahead. Together, we accomplished so much for our community, and their influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

And although we are all sad to see our friends move on, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the time we had with you! Thank you, Majors Henderson, for your faithful service, your friendship, and your example of Christ-centered leadership. We pray God's blessings over you as you begin this next chapter in Atlanta.

A father’s love has a way of anchoring a family, offering stability when life feels uncertain and encouragement when the road gets tough ⚓️

His influence is not limited to one generation, but rather ripples outward, shaping who we become and how we love others.

Today, at The Salvation Army Knoxville, we honor the dads and father figures who lead with heart and strengthen the families in our community.❤️

Happy Father’s Day from all of us! 👔✨

𝑵𝒐 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒃𝒚𝒆𝒔, 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝑺𝒆𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑺𝒐𝒐𝒏!

This Sunday will be Majors Cameron and Paula Henderson’s last Sunday in Knoxville after five wonderful years of service to our community.

It’s hard to express just how much they have meant to all of us. They have led with faith, compassion, humility, and a genuine love for people. Whether you met them through The Salvation Army, at a community event, in a time of need, or simply in passing, you probably experienced the kindness and care that they brought to everything they did.

The Hendersons never saw people as problems to solve—they saw people. They celebrated victories, shared burdens, offered encouragement, and poured their hearts into this community. Knoxville is better because they were here.

While we're excited to welcome new officers in the coming days, this moment belongs to the Hendersons. We are grateful for their leadership, thankful for their friendship, and blessed to have served alongside them.

Please join us in thanking Majors Cameron and Paula Henderson for five incredible years and wishing them God's richest blessings as they begin their next chapter in Atlanta. You will be deeply missed and always loved by your Knoxville family!

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. A day of freedom long delayed, and a reminder of the generations who endured unimaginable injustice.

It is a time to remember, to honor, and to reflect on the lives, stories, and courage of those who fought for liberation.

But Juneteenth also calls us to look honestly at the present, because while slavery was legally abolished, exploitation and modern slavery still exist today, affecting vulnerable individuals and communities across our nation.

The Salvation Army Knoxville continues that fight today through our anti‑human trafficking programs, walking alongside survivors with love, safety, dignity, compassion, and hope.

We believe honoring the past means choosing how we live today, supporting one another, extending grace, treating every person with respect, and serving in ways that protect freedom and uphold humanity.

☀️ Camp season is officially underway!☀️

This week, our first group of campers headed off for a week filled with fun, friendship, adventure, and opportunities to grow at Camp Paradise Valley!

This camping experience is provided free to families, giving children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp the chance to experience a week they'll never forget! It's just one more way The Salvation Army is serving children and families across East Tennessee.

Have a great week, campers—we can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!

Have you felt the joy that comes from giving without expecting anything back?

There’s a special kind of joy that comes from giving with a full heart when no one’s watching, the kind that reminds us we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s the kind of joy that fills your heart long after the moment has passed.

If you’d like to share that joy in Knoxville, you’re welcome to support the work happening in our community. ♥️

School may pause for summer, but learning doesn’t have to. Summer doesn’t need to be a season where kids fall behind. ☀️📉

At The Salvation Army Knoxville, we want summer to be a season where your children leap forward. And we are committed to this statement!

From Summer Sleepaway Camps for a week-long immersive experience that encourages independence and lasting memories, to youth programs and summer music conservatories, The Salvation Army Knoxville gives children and teenagers a place to learn, play, explore, and stay rooted in community.

We help young minds stay bright.✨

When you volunteer with The Salvation Army Knoxville, you become the hands and feet of Jesus, showing His love in practical, everyday ways that change lives. ✨

If you feel called to serve your neighbors, we’d be honored to serve alongside you.🙏
