Samson and King David were both strong men, chosen and anointed by God. Mighty in strength, courageous in battle, and favored by the Lordâyet both were brought low, not by enemies, not by armies, but by the desires of their own hearts.
Samsonâs strength was undone by chasing what felt good. Davidâs peace was stolen by taking what wasnât his. Their stories remind us that power, talent, or calling cannot replace vigilance over our hearts, our eyes, and our desires.
Being used by God is not a shield against temptation. Anointing doesnât erase accountability, and a calling doesnât excuse compromise. Even the strongest can fall if they fail to guard what God entrusted to them.
Let their lives be a warning, and an encouragement. Guard your heart. Guard your eyes. Guard your desires. Strength is a gift, but faithfulness is a choice. đđ»đ€
