Pabade Bakery has been a valued friend of Palisades Family Success Center, helping us bring a little extra sweetness to the programs, events, and special moments that bring our community together. Partnerships like these remind us that supporting families truly takes a community — from our staff and volunteers to the local businesses that continue to show up alongside us.

Because one post simply wasn’t enough for this day!

More moments from the Palisades Family Success Center Block Party, where the best part wasn’t just the backpacks, school supplies, games, treats, and giveaways — it was seeing Union City families spending the day together.

From little ones building (and knocking down 😅) giant block towers to cotton candy bigger than their heads, prizes being won, backpacks being picked out, and neighbors connecting with local resources, these are the moments that make a Family Success Center feel like exactly that: a place for families and community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who spent the day with Palisades Family Success Center and helped fill the block with so much energy, laughter, and connection.

Palisades Family Success Center showed up for the community!

The Palisades Family Success Center took over Union City for an incredible Block Party, bringing families, neighbors, and community partners together for a full day of fun, connection, and getting ready for the new school year!

Families stopped by to pick up free backpacks and school supplies, while kids enjoyed games, prizes, popcorn, cotton candy, activities, giveaways, and plenty more throughout the day. From giant building blocks and spin-the-wheel fun to some seriously happy faces leaving with brand-new backpacks, there was something happening around every corner.

But days like this are about more than what we give away. They’re about bringing our community together, connecting families with resources, and making sure our students head back to school feeling supported and ready for what’s ahead.

A HUGE thank you to the Palisades Family Success Center team, our community partners, volunteers, participating organizations, and everyone who helped make the day possible — and, of course, to all of the Union City families who came out and celebrated with us!

Here’s to a great school year ahead!

What an incredible day at Bayway Family Success Center!

Our community came together for Bayway’s Backpack Drive & Giveaway to help local students head into the new school year feeling supported, prepared, and celebrated.

A HUGE thank you to all of the organizations, community partners, and resource tables that showed up for our families! From backpacks and school supplies to so many generous gifts, resources, and helpful connections, your support helped make this day so special for our students.

We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who volunteered, donated, helped behind the scenes, and simply showed up to be part of the day. And, of course, thank you to all of the families who joined us! Seeing so many smiling faces and students excited for the year ahead is exactly what community is all about.

On Saturday, October 10, Prevention Links and the Union County Board of County Commissioners are bringing our community together at Nomahegan Park in Cranford for the 28th Annual Red Ribbon Day Awareness Walk & Family Fun Festival.

The Awareness Walk begins at 10 AM, followed by our Ceremony & Family Fun Festival at 11 AM — with family-friendly activities, entertainment, community resources, and organizations from throughout Union County and beyond.

But most importantly, everyone comes with a reason to walk.

Walk for prevention. Walk for recovery. Walk for someone you love.

As we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day, Prevention Links invites our community to come together to honor the lives lost to overdose, support those who carry their memory, and remind one another that every life lost was so much more than a number.

Join us on Monday, August 31 from 12–4 PM in Elizabeth for a day of remembrance, connection, and hope.

As part of this year’s observance, we’re inviting our community to help us say their names and share their stories. If you have lost someone to overdose, you can submit a message in their memory—a favorite story, a few words about who they were, or simply something you want the world to know about them.

Submissions can remain completely anonymous.

During our August 31 event, these messages will be shared aloud before we come together for a moment of silence in honor of every person we have lost and every family, friend, and community that continues to carry their memory.

Backpacks packed and ready for Bayway!

Our team came together to pack more than 100 backpacks for Bayway Family Success Center’s Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway, helping local Elizabeth families get ready for another school year.

Getting here took a little teamwork! That’s what our Family Success Centers are all about: neighbors supporting neighbors and making sure families have access to the resources they need, right in their own community.

Thank you to everyone that showed up and received their bags! We can’t wait to do it again!

Our Prevention Links Board of Directors recently came together for our Board Retreat—a dedicated time to reflect on where we’ve been, look ahead to where we’re going, and strengthen the shared vision guiding our work.
