Changing Lenses, Changing Lives

Changing Lenses, Changing Lives Our vision is to ensure that children in developing nations have their basic health and educational needs met.

Changing Lenses, Changing Lives (CLCL) strives to ensure that children in developing countries have their basic welfare and education needs met though funding projects and individual sponsorships. We believe these children need access to health care to ensure they are healthy; electricity or solar lamps, so they can study at home; sanitary supplies for girls, so they can attend school regularly; and books, so they can read and learn like their wealthier counterparts.

We gathered our Junior and Senior School, as well as University and Technical students, at our offices for an inspiring conversation on how they can change their history and shape their future as they prepare for the third trimester.

Together, we reflected on the realities they must choose to avoid, including growing without growth in all aspects of their lives and allowing a negative attitude to limit their potential.

Our students were reminded that their past does not have to define their future. Through the opportunities, mentorship, and support available through CLCL, they have the power to change the course of their lives, make better choices, and build a future they can be proud of.

As they step into the third trimester, the message is simple: grow, stay positive, seize every opportunity, and believe in the future you are capable of creating.

Before schools closed for the holidays, we conducted a Ruby Cup refresher training and follow up session at St. James Tutua School. The school based follow up achieved high attendance, enabling effective monitoring of previous beneficiaries, reinforcement of menstrual health education, and collection of valuable feedback on Ruby Cup use.

Previous beneficiaries consistently reported positive experiences with the Ruby Cup, highlighting improved menstrual hygiene, increased confidence, greater comfort, and reduced menstrual related expenses. While economic challenges such as inadequate school fees and lack of proper school uniforms continue to affect some learners' attendance, we remain committed to ensuring every girl has access to the knowledge and menstrual health support she deserves.

Every smile tells a story of hope. Every dream deserves a chance to grow.

At Changing Lenses Changing Lives, we believe that when children are empowered with education, care, and opportunity, they become the changemakers of tomorrow. Together, we are creating a future where every child can dream boldly, learn confidently, and thrive without limits.

Because changing the way we see children changes the world they grow up in.

Every conversation creates confidence. Every Ruby Cup shared creates opportunity. ❤️

Over the course of our recent community outreaches, we trained 189 women and distributed 157 Ruby Cups, equipping women and young mothers with sustainable menstrual health solutions and the knowledge to use them confidently.

The most inspiring part was hearing from previous beneficiaries who have successfully used their Ruby Cups for years. Their stories of comfort, dignity, affordability, and confidence encouraged many first-time users to embrace a reusable option.

While community follow-up sessions recorded fewer previous Ruby Cup beneficiaries than anticipated due to competing community commitments and the attendance of many new participants, one message remained clear: the demand for menstrual health education and sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions continues to grow.

Women who had adopted the Ruby Cup spoke of increased confidence, dignity, comfort, and reduced menstrual-related costs. Their testimonies inspired first-time participants, while community leaders and schools expressed a strong desire to expand the programme to reach even more adolescent girls and women.

Refresher trainings created safe spaces for participants to ask questions, share experiences, and strengthen their understanding of the correct use and care of the Ruby Cup. Open conversations continued to challenge myths, reduce stigma, and build lasting confidence around menstrual health.

As we move forward, strengthening community engagement, encouraging more open and meaningful feedback, and expanding follow-up activities will ensure that every beneficiary is supported throughout their journey and that more women and girls benefit from this life-changing programme.

This programme is about more than distributing menstrual cups. It is about restoring dignity, improving menstrual health, reducing financial barriers, and empowering women and girls with knowledge that lasts long after the training ends.

Together, we are breaking barriers, restoring dignity, and creating lasting change—one conversation, one woman, and one community at a time. 💜

Some blessings are wrapped in blankets, but the greatest gift is knowing that someone cares. Today was not just about giving. It was about sharing love, restoring dignity, and reminding these beautiful souls that they are seen, valued, and never alone. ❤️

This week we were privileged to visit three of our primary schools where we have feeding programs. The children entertained us with dance routines, poetry, and songs. From the smallest nursery school babes to the adolescent junior secondary students we were enthralled with their skills and discipline. We distributed solar lamps to the ninth graders, so they have light to study for their national end-of-junior-secondary-school exams; gave soccer balls and other sports equipment for their P.E. classes; and toothbrushes and toothpaste for everyone.

For the first time, we played activities with all the children. We could not decide if the children or the team had more fun, but we definitely knew which group was more exhausted 😰😅 After activities, we had the privledge of helping serve lunch to our kids. It was fun to see the food we purchase go to energizing their beautiful souls. Asante sana (thank you very much ) to everyone who contributed to our trip and to our food program! ♥️🖤💚🇰🇪
