The Keller Chapter of the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) was established in 2016 and services the Keller community. We are the first and largest chapter in Keller. With more than 190 members, YMSL Keller is part of a nationwide non-profit service organization that enhances the mother/son relationship through community service and leadership. The young men in the organization are active during t
heir freshman through senior years of high school. YMSL Keller has donated thousands of volunteer hours in the DFW community partnering with almost 20 area philanthropies such as The Community Storehouse, Miracle League, Special Olympics, Christ's Haven, Meals on Wheels, Samaritans Purse and more. Throughout the League year, mothers and sons are required to complete a minimum of 20 approved philanthropy hours, most of which are accomplished together. In addition, each member must hold a leadership position (there is a variety to choose from) as well as attend monthly meetings. Mom’s meetings include discussing the business of the League as well as learning from guest speakers such as college recruiters, local charities, etc. Boys learn life skills, career exploration, leadership and more. Some favorites include learning simple car maintenance at a local garage and hands-on flying in the Southwest Airlines flight simulator! Membership in YMSL Keller is an excellent way to foster community involvement, personal growth, caring about others, teamwork and leadership skills.
