Keller Services Charities Golf Classic is excited to support Chat N Chew's mission.
When I asked how many the organization is serving and what would $15K do for your organization, the Director, Marvee McLendon, said, "The Food Pantry has currently served 1,176 families to date, vs 516 in 2025. The increase is due to job losses and the government shutdown. The Transitional Housing currently has 5 women and 7 children. In 2025, Christmas Cheer served 148 children, distributing approximately 1,125 essential gifts, and we served over 100 families for Thanksgiving. Our first Health Fair in 2025 served 60 people.
In addition, she said, "A $15,000 donation would help us take a significant step toward something we genuinely need: our own dedicated space. Currently, we do a lot with what we have and are deeply grateful to our Crossroads Church family, but we have outgrown it. Having one large enough space to bring everything together would dramatically change how we serve our community. It would enable us to house our food pantry, clothing, assessments, and education programs all in one place, while also creating room for health fairs and special events like Thanksgiving and Christmas. More than anything, because Chat N Chew is relational rather than transactional, this space would provide a place where people feel welcome and supported, not rushed. It allows us to continue building relationships, not just offering resources. This kind of support is a prayer answered and would help us move from merely making it work to building something lasting for our community."
