DFW- There is a very kind woman who heard that this sweet boy, Rufus was facing being taken to a kill-shelter, and to try to help him, she took him in a few days ago with the intention of hopefully finding a rescue or someone who can help. Rescuing truly does take a community, and because of her, he has a second chance. ❤️ She is not in the position to keep him long-term, and really needs help to spread the word for him. She said that she thinks with proper introduction and training, Rufus could be good with cats, but partly because of the way they were introduced, he wants to keep chasing her cats. I spoke with her on the phone, and Rufus seems like such a wonderful companion! We know that there is someone perfect for him out there – where they will both enjoy a beautiful friendship. This is the bio she sent for him:
“This is Rufus. He is a 5 year old red heeler/pit mix boy. He is neutered and completely house trained, as long as he goes outside about 2/3 times a day. I have fostered him about 2 weeks now but desperately trying to find him a forever home because he is not very sure of our cat. He’s very active and playful, he is very good on a leash & always has a chew toy near him! He does have extreme separation anxiety I will usually leave the tv on for him when I am out of the house because it helps him being alone. He is 100% a man/woman’s best friend!”
