Lucky 13 Rescue

Directions Website

Lucky 13 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016, serving the KC metro and surrounding rural areas.

We're a foster-based rescue helping dogs of all breeds through medical care, rehabilitation, foster homes, and adoption into loving forever homes. Lucky 13 Rescue is a federal 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the rescue and aid of homeless and neglected dogs in the Kansas City metro and surrounding rural areas. We do not limit our efforts to a specific breed, but rather strive to assist any dog that is facing neglect, homelessness, abuse or death. Our ultimate goal is to rehabilitate each canine in our care through placement in loving foster homes until they can be carefully matched with adoptive families.

Here we go again! 5 more dogs on our list, just like that!

1. Lucy, pug, 10 pounds, 9 yo. Good with dogs, shy with kids, ignores cats. Housetrained but also used to potty pads. Doesn’t like to be kenneled, we’re told she screams.
2. Leo, 30ish pounds, 9 yo. Good with dogs, but can be bossy (typical frenchie), good with kids but jumps. Chases cats. Housetrained but may mark occasionally.
3. Doug, 9 yo, black and white with freckles, senior boy who is at Animal Control. Very very sweet. Good with dogs. At risk for euthanasia.
4. Lala, senior JRT, very sweet. Good with dogs. At risk for euthanasia.
5. Maddy, fluffy girl, 1-3 yo, good with dogs and finder’s kiddo. Barks at cats. Stray who showed up and is looking for a soft place to land to find her forever family.

Meet Wednesday! This energetic, affectionate girl loves dogs, kids, toys, and cuddling with her humans. She may be shy at first, but give her a little time and she’ll be covering you in kisses!

Wednesday is kennel trained, food motivated, and working on her leash skills. She’d love a dog sibling but could also thrive as your only pup with an active, loving family.

Her adoption fee is $275 and includes vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm prevention.

It’s the 13th of the month! This month we’re asking if you can help raise funds for Marshall.

Marshall has been the happiest, most upbeat guy since he entered our care. He’s also stinking adorable.

Unfortunately that positivity also includes the results of his heartworm test 😞

Now Marshall has to endure injections and be on a significant activity restriction to ensure safe and effective treatment.

This treatment is costly. And it’s not a cost we ever anticipate when bringing a new dog into our rescue, but it’s Marshall’s reality now. We are going to help him fight and give him the best chance at a long and healthy life with his future forever family.

Can you spare $13 today to help Marshall fight heartworms? Thank you in advance for helping Marshall in this battle!
