New Americans (including refugees and asylees):

If you received a letter saying your MO HealthNet coverage will end after Sept. 30 due to your immigration status and your immigration status has been updated to either Legal Permanent Resident, also known as a green card holder, or U.S. Citizen, then you must upload documents verifying your new immigration status to the MO FSD.

Submitting the same immigration documentation that the MO FSD already has on file will not change the decision.

If your status has changed, upload your updated documents at https://my.mo.gov/fsdbenefits?id=fsd_document_upload

Call Sam Rodgers health insurance services team at (816) 889.4797 if you need help.

Our Health Insurance Services and Outreach teams were busy in the community last week, joining Phoenix Family's Back-to-School event and working with Dotte Mobile Grocer at our Downtown Campus and Cabot locations.

Thank you to both organizations for helping connect families with food, resources and support close to home!

Your doctor handles your medical care. Your midwife manages your labor. But who is there just for you?

A doula rubs your back through contractions, reminds you to breathe, speaks up for you when you cannot find the words, and checks on you after everyone else stops asking how you are doing.

Ask your care team about doula support through The MaIH Center at Sam Rodgers, powered by Altruism Media, Inc.

Call (816) 889.4897 or visit https://samrodgers.org/doula.

If you’re looking to increase your milk supply, rest and self-care are some of the best things you can do. Have questions or need support? Talk to your prenatal care team at Sam Rodgers for help.

Don’t forget, your Medicaid benefit covers your prenatal, well-woman, and well-child visits. Call (816) 474.4920 for an appointment, or visit https://samrodgers.org/womens-health for more information or support. Need health insurance? Give us a call. We can help with that, too.

Puberty can bring questions that feel awkward on both sides.

Body changes, mood changes, hygiene, periods, growth, voice changes, acne, and emotions can all become part of the same conversation. A yearly visit gives families a place to talk through what is happening and what may come next.

At Sam Rodgers, pediatricians can help make puberty feel like normal medical information, not something families have to figure out alone. Call (816) 474.4920 to request an appointment.

It used to be that if you applied for Medicaid, it could cover medical bills from the previous three months. That is changing.

Starting in 2027, adults covered through Missouri’s Medicaid expansion will only receive one month of coverage for past medical bills. Children, pregnant women, adults age 65 or older, and people with disabilities will receive two months.

What does this mean for you? If you think you may qualify for Medicaid, do not wait to apply. Do not let bills stack up thinking Medicaid will cover them later, because that window will be much shorter in 2027.

Lost your job? Apply for Medicaid before you lose your coverage, if you can. Have medical bills piling up?

Apply today, not next month.
Our health insurance counselors can check your eligibility and help you apply. Visit. Visit https://samrodgers.org/healthinsuranceservices/ or call (816) 889.4797.
