KC Brick Lab had an unforgettable weekend at Brick Days 2026! 🏗️✨

It was so rewarding to see 27 of our members come together in Council Bluffs to share our passion for the brick. We loved seeing everyone’s reactions to our 15x30 LEGO city and the Holiday Amusement Park. A huge highlight for us was watching the creativity of the public during our "Build the Death Star Trench" activity! 🚀

We were honored to have 15 total nominations across 9 members for MOC awards! A special shout-out to those recognized for their unique builds:
🚤 Chris S. – Best Water Vehicle
⭐ Chris M. – Judges’ Choice (for his layout and wonderful interaction with the public!)
🐉 Jason S. – Best Pop Culture (for his Dragonlance Chronicles Inn)
🚂 Shawn K. – Best Train (CPKC Train)

The fun continued with the weekend competitions! Chris S. also won the Minifig Speed Build and Brick Built Derby, and several of our members (Cheryl, Alex, David F., and Shawn A.) had a blast joining a combined team to take on Saturday night LEGO Trivia! 🧠

Thank you to the Brick Days organizers for putting on such a fantastic community event. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year! 🗓️ April 29 – May 2, 2027

And finally, Chris S. also won Builder of the Plains this year - this award winner represents the best of all builders at Brick Days. It is not about the size of the display. It is about the artistic and engineering innovation, imagination, and originality contained in this individual’s creations. Congratulations to Chris!

Make sure you stop by Santa's Brickland when you visit Holiday Reflections at Union Station here in Kansas City, MO. This creation is at the back of the grand hall of Union Station in Kansas City by the model train display.

This collaboration includes individual original creations from 19 members of our club with amazing lighting effects installed onsite at Union Station by our club lighting expert. It will be on display through the end of February until we take it to our annual FREE showcase at the Indian Creek Library in Olathe, KS (28 Feb – 1 Mar).
