ACED What is ACED? The ACED program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life-enhancing experiences. Tardiness may lead to dismissal.

Adult Continuing Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (ACED) offers adults the opportunity to attend non-credit classes in an educational and social environment. ACED is offered by the UMKC Institute for Human Development, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Avila University and Graceland University, with funding from the Developmental Disability Serv

ices of Jackson County~EITAS. Northland classes are funded by Platte and Clay County Boards for Developmental Disabilities. New Students
If you have never attended ACED classes, return the registration form with your fees to the appropriate campus and call the ACED office in which you are enrolling to schedule an interview. ALL interviews must be conducted before the first day of class. Returning Students

If you withdraw from class one week before classes begin, a refund will be given. Refunds will be given if a class is cancelled or closed. To withdraw from a class, please call the campus at which you are enrolled. Attendance Policy

Weather
If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, a recorded message will be on the voice mail at your campus. Please call after 7 a.m. on the day of the class to confirm the status of your classes. Registration
You must be at least 16 years of age and a Jackson, Platte, or Clay County resident to participate. Pre-registration is required. Walk-in registrations will not be accepted. Class offerings are on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited. Please return registration form early. Minimum enrollment is required to offer a class. Don’t forget to send a check or money order by mail. Your check for payment will be processed the first week after classes begin.

ACED Spring classes are open for registration!

ACED offers learning and fun for people with disabilities, ages 16 and older, living in Jackson, Platte, and Clay counties in Missouri.

This session, students from all ACED areas can enroll in any class. ACED will teach online classes for the first 6 weeks starting 1/23. Outdoor/in-person classes will begin 3/13. Learn more and register at https://ihd.umkc.edu/aced-2/
