Applications for the next cohort of the Sewing Salon Training Program are open! Are you interested in learning to become an industrial sewist? The program consists of 23 weeks of classroom training followed by 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job training (roughly a year working full-time). Once you complete both phases, you will become a Certified Apprentice in Industrial Sewing Machine Operations through the U.S. Department of Labor.

We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of the Greater KC Stitch Off. This event represents more than just a competition. It is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community.

This year, the Stitch Off will replace our traditional annual gala as our signature fundraising event. As one of our major fundraisers, it will directly support our free programming, including our Sewing Salon Training Program and community classes. Every stitch, every participant, and every sponsor helps create opportunity for individuals working toward economic stability and creative expression.
