Meet your 2026 KC Pride Parade Honorary Grand Marshal 👑🌈

State Representative Wick Thomas is not a politician who only shows up to support our community once a year — Wick has spent a lifetime advocating for us. 🖤

Wick is the first out trans/gender variant person to be elected to statewide office in Missouri, proudly representing District 19 in the Missouri House of Representatives. In their first year in office, Wick co-founded the Equality Caucus, working to protect our LGBTQ and immigrant neighbors.

Coming out at a young age in rural Missouri, Wick has always fought for our community. At 19, they were a member of the Soulforce Equality Ride, traveling to conservative religious colleges to talk about inclusive theology. Wick co-founded the first trans youth support group in Kansas City, the EQUAL Trans support group, and was a key organizer for the EQUAL Youth Empowerment Summit, bringing together all of the GSAs in the Kansas City area.

Wick has received awards from the National LGBTQ+ Task Force, the UMKC Lavender Graduation "Building Bridges" award, the Creating Change Award, and a Legislative Champion Award from PROMO — and they are going to keep advocating for us in Jefferson City! 🏳️‍⚧️👏🖤

Meet your 2026 KC Pride Parade Grand Marshal 👑🌈

Nyla Foster is everything this community stands for and we are honored to have her leading the way.

A Black trans organizer, storyteller, and advocate rooted right here in Missouri, Nyla serves as Executive Director of the Trans Women of Color Collective and as a Digital Equality Organizer with PROMO Missouri. A former plaintiff in the Kansas trans birth certificate case, former Miss Black Trans International, Miss Kansas City Pride, and Miss Missouri State, her work spans community organizing, housing justice, digital access, and narrative change across the Midwest. And she has the degrees to back it all up. 👏🖤

We are not worthy. We are SO excited! 🌈
