Children's Haven of Southwest Missouri, Inc. Through the services we provide, we work to protect children, prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce family stress, and ultimately, keep families together.

Children’s Haven provides a temporary home to children ages birth through 17 years whose families are experiencing a crisis. A family crisis may include, but is not limited to: homelessness or unsafe living accommodations, lack of utilities or food, parents or sibling hospitalization, fear of abusing or neglecting children and parent seeking mental health or substance abuse treatment. Our organiza

tion is a private, nonprofit home for children to receive nurturing crisis care during times of heightened stress in their family. Since opening our doors 19 years ago in the heart of Joplin at 7th & Picher, Children’s Haven has been a safety net for families in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. Licensed through the State of Missouri, our professional staff of Child Advocates is trained to provide nurturing care for children and through collaborative efforts assist families to access community resources to resolve their crisis situation. Through the services we provide, we work to protect children, prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce family stress and ultimately, keep families together.

Mr. Corley was known throughout our community for his compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of local children and families. At Children’s Haven, we see firsthand the extraordinary devotion of mothers doing everything they can to protect, provide for, and care for their children—even in the midst of crisis. Motherhood is not always easy, and sometimes the strongest thing a parent can do is reach out for support.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the resilience, compassion, and unwavering love of the women who nurture children and keep hope alive. Thank you for the countless ways you comfort, advocate, sacrifice, and love.
