Founded in 1891, the Joplin Family Y is a member-supported, nonprofit organization committed to serving Joplin, MO, and the surrounding area. We build strong kids, strong families and strong communities through a full-service fitness facility that offers fitness equipment, nutritional counseling, personal training and group exercise classes every week. In addition, we are the largest provider of childcare in the community, serving children ages 6 weeks through 14 years of age through afterschool care, day camp and a stand-alone childcare center.

A big THANK YOU to Gina Whitehead with the Alzheimer’s Association for helping make today’s Brain Health event at the Joplin Family YMCA such a success!

We’re also grateful to everyone who joined us to learn, ask questions, and spend time together. These are the kinds of conversations that help us better support ourselves, our families, and one another.

The Joplin Family YMCA is accepting resumes for a part-time Fitness Coordinator (up to 20 hours weekly +PT/GX instruction). The position will focus on Personal Training, Group Exercise Scheduling, Fitness Center Cleanliness & Organization, Smart Starts, Tween Orientations and new program development.

Preferred qualifications: PT & GX certifications, CPR/AED & First Aid, BS in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field & 2+ years of relevant experience.

The Joplin Family YMCA is accepting resumes for a part-time Aquatics Coordinator (15-20 hours weekly + Private Swim Lesson instruction). The position will focus on Swimming Lessons, Pool Cleanliness & Upkeep, LG In-Service Trainings, Scheduling and new program development.

Preferred qualifications: LG certified or within 90 days of hire, LGI within 6 months of hire, CPR/AED & First Aid, BS in related field & 2+ years of relevant experience.

The Joplin Family YMCA is accepting resumes for a part-time Sports Coordinator (15-20 hours weekly + sports coaching instruction). The position will focus on our current Sports and new program development for all ages.

Preferred qualifications: Certified Referee, CPR/AED First Aid, BS in Recreation, Sports Management, Parks & Recreation or related field & 2+ years of relevant experience.
