We would like to take a moment to honor one of our own — FOP member, Jerry Breeding, who passed away on February 12, 2026.

Jerry Breeding dedicated his life to serving others. He was a United States Army Veteran before he began his 32 year career with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department. He spent two terms as Sheriff before retiring in 2006. Sheriff Breeding made a lasting impact on our community with his kindness and compassion to serve those around him.

Please keep Jerry’s wife, daughters, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Rest easy, good and faithful servant.

The FOP Lodge #138 would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and our fellow officers who are mourning the tragic loss of Officer Brian Elliott who paid the ultimate price while serving his community on February 16, 2026. Today and in the days to come, we stand with Beech Grove.

Last weekend FOP Lodge #138 hosted our annual Kids Camp! A great weekend full of learning, fun and creating a positive relationship with the youth and local emergency agencies! Between firetruck and helicopter tours, water balloon fights, fishing, archery, swimming, ATV safety lessons, drone demos, and really good food - every kid had a different favorite activity! Thank you to everyone who volunteered - all the local police agencies (DCSO, ISP, JPD, DNR, HPD, FPD), Haysville Fire Department, Dubois County Sportsmans Club, Airvac 17 of Paoli, Dubois County Prosecutors Office and all the spouses and families of law enforcement that come together to make this thing happen! This weekend was a blast!

Reminder - YardGoat is hosting FOP 138 for this month's Hoptimism! A $1 of every pint gets donated to FOP which helps us fund things like Kids Camp and our Christmas event Cops & Kids! Doors open from 5-9pm, hope to see you there!

This Wednesday is the first in the month and we will be hosting our monthly Spreading Hoptimism event for the Fraternal Order of Police. $1 of every pint sold plus all donations will go directly to this group.
