The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes is hosting Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Days on July 18-19, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day.

Enjoy guest speakers, battle reenactments, Rolling Thunder, a Vietnam fire base display, Honor Flight information, 1960s music, special exhibits, food vendors, and more.

This is a great opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of our Vietnam veterans while enjoying a weekend of history, fellowship, and remembrance.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Dubois County Veteran Service Office 🇺🇸
As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we are reminded of how blessed we are to live in this amazing country and enjoy the freedoms we have today.
Nearly 250 years ago, ordinary men and women stood up with courage against oppression and chose the difficult path toward liberty. Because of their faith, bravery, and sacrifice, the foundation was laid for the nation we are proud to call home.
Joshua 1:9 reminds us, “Be strong and courageous.” Those words still ring true today as we honor the generations of Americans who have stood strong in defense of freedom.
The Dubois County Veteran Service Office is grateful for this country, grateful for our veterans, and proud to serve those who have helped protect the freedoms we are blessed to enjoy.
May everyone have a safe and meaningful Independence Day.

🇺🇸 Veteran Resource Spotlight 🇺🇸
Dubois County is fortunate to have organizations like Operation Mind, Body & Soul serving our veteran community. Their dedication to supporting veterans through outreach, crisis intervention, and connecting veterans with needed resources makes a real difference.
We are especially excited about the future impact of their Veterans Mobile Crisis Intervention Team and the support it will provide to veterans and families throughout our local community.
We are grateful for partners who continue to stand beside those who served and look forward to seeing the positive difference this program will make for years to come.

🇺🇸 Attention Dubois County Veterans 🇺🇸

Today officially marks the start of the new property tax deduction period for eligible veterans.
To receive the deduction, veterans must first come through the Dubois County Veteran Service Office before submitting their paperwork to the Auditor's Office. We are here to help ensure you receive the benefits you have earned through your service.

📅 The deadline to apply is December 30, so don't wait until the last minute.

📄 Please bring: • A copy of your DD-214 • Your VA Award Letter showing your current disability rating

⏰ Office Hours: Tuesday – Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

📌 Please note: Our office will be closed on July 3rd in observance of Independence Day. We will resume our normal schedule on Tuesday and be available to assist you.

We are expanding our services to Harrison County. We are looking for a location to lease for a Rec. Area and Training Center approx. 1000 sf for our Veterans, Law Enforcement and First Responders in Corydon, Indiana. Our budget is tight as of right now. We currently have locations like this in Dubois and Perry County. We also have a 7000 sf gym with a Boxing ring in Dubois County. In Perry County we partnered with gyms to provide the fitness side of our organization. PLEASE SHARE! Harrison County has one of the highest Veterans su***de rates in Southern Indiana and we plan to fix that.
