Parents Supporting Education

Parents Supporting Education Advocacy, Equity, Community in Education What started as a page, turned into a non profit organization we called Parents Supporting Education-Jasper.

In September 2022 a couple friends who live in Jasper, Indiana started brainstorming ways to support local public educators. We believe it is imperative that as an organization we continually evaluate and evolve. While our focus is currently the Jasper area, We hope to grow to encompass all of Dubois County, Indiana. Our mission has three areas of focus: Advocacy, Equity, and Community. We advoca

te for the needs of our public educators both locally and on a state level. We do this by amplifying the voices of public educators, students, and school families and raising awareness about important issues facing public education in our community. We work to promote positive community engagement that brings together parents, educators, students, and community members. We encourage equity and inclusion by advocating for fair policies, and inclusive practices that benefit all students. We help address disparities in education, including access to resources and opportunities for underserved students. We believe it does take a village to raise a child and it is the job of all of us to BE THE VILLAGE. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and fund our programs through grants, private and corporate donations, our merch shop, Walmart Spark Good, and fundraisers. As a volunteer run organization we have minimal operating costs allowing us to allocate more resources toward our mission and goals.

If you're a student at Oakland City University trying to figure out what's next, we'd like to help.

Kentucky Wesleyan College is holding Transfer Week June 1–5. For one week, our admissions counselors, financial aid team, registrar, faculty, and coaches are setting aside time to meet with OCU students one-on-one. Bring your transcript and your most recent aid letter, and we'll show you what transferring to KWC would actually look like.

We're matching OCU institutional aid up to $25,000. No application fee. Most students will leave their appointment with a preliminary credit evaluation, admissions decision, and a financial aid estimate the same day.

Visits are available on campus or by Zoom. Register now at https://go.kwc.edu/portal/transfer-week
