Even with the bad weather to start out this week’s ramp builds for Ramp-O-Rama, Pinnacle volunteers worked hard in the rain!

Due to said weather conditions, this week’s ramps have been postponed.

We will continue building next week.🔨

Thank you to the volunteers from Pinnacle for pushing through today’s rain as much as they could.❤️

Another amazing ramp build to start off Ramp-O-Rama done by Gold Standard Construction and Consulting volunteers!

Mrs. Carlotta isn't new to non profits, as she has worked as a consultant with other non profits as well as helping with the organization Hope VI obtain grants that rebuilt severely distressed public housing into sustainable, mixed-income communities.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Carlotta has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis constantly since 1985. She spoke about how her husband is a singer, and even with the pain she suffers, she would push through and dance with her cane along to his songs. She hopes to always inspire people that even with the pain to still push through and enjoy life.

Kicking off Ramp-O-Rama with an amazing first ramp build❤️. Thank you to Gold Standard Construction and Consulting volunteers for making this happen.

Sally has been unable to leave their back door in a year. Russell takes care of Sally, his wife of 46 years. She has hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), which is a group of rare and progressive inherited disorders that cause weakness and stiffness of the legs. She has been unable to get out the back door to enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, & her bird feeders.

Last week, our team and VyStar volunteers built a ramp for Mr. James, an 83-year-old veteran battling stage four cancer, and his wife Alice.

Just last summer, Mr. James was still building fences and decks. Unfortunately, he is now fully dependent on his wife Alice. With his full-time care, treatments and doctor’s appointments, the yard & deck, where they love to spend time on, had become overwhelming.

After getting Mr. James settled, Alice worked alongside us & VyStar’s volunteers for hours, sweaty, dirty and smiling.

After the completion of the ramp, Alice had reached out to express just how grateful they were.

"I just wanted to tell Builders Care and VyStar Credit Union volunteers how much we appreciate the ramp you built for me to get my husband's wheelchair to the truck. I truly still get teary eyed every time I look at it and remember everyone coming out on September 22nd to help us. They even pressure washed my old deck so it looks like new and helped me clean up a disaster of a wood pile. We are forever grateful for all the hard work and great people that work for both of your companies."

Eight people. Two days. A husband & wife who have just a little bit less to worry about today. ❤

What an amazing job well done by our team this week! We had volunteers from Vystar help us in building a new ramp for Ralph and Lori.

Ralph, a veteran, and his wife Lori have expressed they are very thankful to have been able to receive a new ramp.

Lori, who suffers from neurological problems, has been home bound for 4 months because she was unable to manage using their steps. Her and Ralph said they were beyond grateful for the new ramp especially so that Lori can now sit on the porch and watch their hummingbird feeder. Lori also enjoyed watching our team build her ramp as she stated she misses building kitchen cabinets herself.

We are so proud to have been able to build this ramp for Lori and Ralph❤️
