A week ago today, Jackson leaders, innovators, and community members filled the room for the Capital City Future Forum.

Swipe through to revisit the energy, the ideas, and the conversations that are shaping what comes next for our capital city. None of this happens without partners who believe in Jackson’s potential, so a continued thank you to the C Spire Foundation and Mississippi Science Fest for standing behind this event, and to every speaker who brought real insight to the stage.

Today we celebrated a significant milestone for the future of LeFleur Museum District with the groundbreaking of the Lakeland Drive Pedestrian Bridge.

This transformative investment will create a safe, ADA-accessible connection between museums, parks, trails, and outdoor destinations while removing one of the district’s longest standing barriers to walking and biking. By connecting key state assets and expanding the trail network, the project will strengthen regional connectivity, support economic growth, and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Great City Mississippi Foundation is proud to support collaborative investments like this that demonstrate what can be accomplished when federal, state, local, nonprofit, and private partners work together toward a shared vision.

The Lakeland Drive Pedestrian Bridge is an important early investment supporting the vision for LeFleur's Bluff, helping create one of Mississippi’s premier urban parks and public spaces for generations to come.

Thank you to the LeFleur’s Bluff Conservancy, Mississippi Department of Transportation, the LeFleur Museum District, project partners, elected officials, and community leaders whose collaboration continues to move this vision forward.

This Saturday, local faith communities, organizations, and volunteers are coming together through the Jackson Rising Clean JXN Corridor Cleanup Series to care for public spaces and invest in the appearance of Jackson.

Great City Mississippi Foundation was proud to join community organizations, civic leaders, state partners, and supporters for LeFleur’s Bluff: The Next Chapter, a celebration of the continued investment and momentum surrounding LeFleur’s Bluff State Park.

The event highlighted the launch of the LeFleur’s Bluff Conservancy and the vision for future improvements across the park, including expanded recreation, trails, public gathering spaces, accessibility enhancements, public art, and improved connections to the Pearl River and LeFleur Museum District.

Supported by a $13 million legislative appropriation and a growing network of public and private partners, these efforts represent an important investment in one of Jackson’s most significant public spaces.

Great City Mississippi Foundation remains committed to supporting parks, trails, and public spaces that improve quality of life, expand access to the outdoors, and strengthen the capital city for future generations.
