Opera Mississippi’s mission is to provide the community and state with the most dynamic musical stage productions possible. In addition, activities include a variety of educational and community outreach programs including educational performances to students and a variety of other performances for citizens of all ages, including pop, jazz, country, and musical theatre cabarets. The annual John Al

exander National Vocal Competition, the only nationally advertised music competition in the state, is designed to recognize and award outstanding vocalists in both opera and musical theatre. Opera Mississippi is proud to be an integral part of the remarkable artistic heritage that shapes the state, and each year thousands of Mississippians and visitors attend and benefit from our quality performances. Among the remarkable singers that have graced Opera Mississippi stage, are internationally known Beverly Sills, Monserrat Caballe, Robert Merrill, James McCracken, Roberta Peters, Jan Peerce, Richard Tucker, Normal Treigle, John Alexander, Renée Fleming and many others. The growth of Opera Mississippi is reflected in our significant increase in our various activities, variety of performances, board members, sponsors and donors, and educational audiences, as well as our increase in ticket sales and grants. It continues to be a pleasure to be a part of Opera Mississippi’s growth and to work with our outstanding performers, board members, staff and you, our supporters. Important Update from Opera Mississippi

Due to unexpected conflicts, our Faith & Freedom event has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

We are deeply grateful for your support this season and for continuing to champion the arts in Mississippi.

We also encourage you to attend Juneteenth Free Day at the Two Mississippi Museums on June 19, 2026, featuring free admission, cultural programming, interactive exhibits, and musical tributes.
