This Heart Month, we’re proud to welcome Timothy Orey to the Jackson Heart Foundation Board.

Timothy is the founder of , which began with a small group running through Downtown Jackson and has grown into a weekly gathering of hundreds coming together to move, connect, and support one another.

JXN Run Club believes that “all paces are legal,” creating an inclusive space for walkers, joggers, and runners alike. You’ll often find the group gathering on the Museum Trail, turning public space into a shared resource. If you’re looking for a way to move this weekend, join them for Sunday Runday tomorrow.

Timothy’s leadership reflects a simple truth that wellness is built together. We’re excited to have his energy and commitment to accessible movement helping guide the work of Jackson Heart Foundation.

February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and encourage heart healthy habits. Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the United States. In Mississippi, rates are among the highest in the nation.

Taking care of your heart can start with simple movement. Just 30 minutes of activity a day makes a difference. As temperatures get more comfortable, use the Museum Trail to get your daily steps in, ride your bike, or stop by the Keith Haring Fitness Court for a free outdoor workout.

To help us better understand how access to active spaces supports community health, you can also spend 30 minutes contributing to the Museum Trail Public Health Study survey.♥️

“At the Jackson Heart Foundation, our mission is to prevent heart disease by promoting healthier lifestyles and creating opportunities for physical activity. The Museum Trail Capitol Green Connector does exactly that.” - Dr. Clay Hays, Jackson Heart Foundation

On October 13, Jackson Heart Foundation joined our community partners and sponsors to announce the groundbreaking for the Capitol Green Connector of the Museum Trail. This project connects the multi-use trail to the heart of downtown, creating more access for daily movement and healthy lifestyles.

We are so excited to celebrate with all of our partners and sponsors tonight at Young at Heart 2025. Your donations have made a huge impact on the future of public health in Jackson, Mississippi! 🙌
