Surdaan 2026: An Annual Charity Concert By High School Students Of Alaap School Of Music
In conversation with an amazing team of Surdaan Himanshi, Arnav, Parmita, Mihika, Aditee and Arya the passionate high school members and driving force behind the Surdaan Foundation. Discover how these talented teens are using their love for Hindustani classical and Bollywood music to make a meaningful impact on communities worldwide.
Surdaan Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, was established in 2016 by members of the Alaap School of Music.
Each year, Surdaan hosts a benefit concert featuring performances of Hindustani classical and Bollywood music, with 100% of the profits donated to three handpicked charities. This year, Surdaan is donating to three charities:
- Scottish Rite for Children: Provides orthopedic and neuromuscular care, alongside treatment for developmental and learning disorders like dyslexia.
- Nayi Disha: Empowers families of children with developmental differences, such as autism and Down syndrome, through an exploration website, professional seminars, and support networks.
- Lok Biradari Prakalp: A social project in Maharashtra, India, providing integrated regional development through a hospital, school, animal orphanage, and agricultural and dairy programs.
This year's Surdaan concert will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Lewisville Grand Theater. The event will feature performances of Hindustani classical music, Bollywood songs, and instrumental pieces. Tickets are available in various tiers, including general (regular), preferred, and VIP options.
