June 5, 2020 Scoutbook Updates - Reports

OVERVIEW: This update fixes bugs in the attendance report for Scouts from different units could appear, and prevents the needs purchasing report from appearing for den and patrol admins.

BUG FIXES

Attendance Report

An issue where a Scout from a different unit could appear in the report if a connected user is in multiple units, and the connected user has permission to access the Scout has been fixed. Only Scouts from the selected unit will be listed in the report.

Needs Purchasing Report

An issue that caused the Needs Purchasing report to appear in the Reports menu for Den or Patrol admins has bee fixed. The Needs Purchasing report can only be run by unit admins or unit advancement chairs.

June 3, 2020 Scoutbook Updates

OVERVIEW: This update fixes bugs in the Audit Log Report, Calendar Reminders, Cub Scout Rank Quick Entry, Export/Backup of activity logs, Merit Badge Counselor completion of merit badges, Merit Badge Counselor upload issues, and the OA Eligibility Report. It adds features for cleanup of old adult connections and restores export/backup of legacy camping, hiking, long cruise, and service logs so that units can verify correct addition of these logs to the new logging system.

BUG FIXES

Audit Log Report

An issue where Scouts outside of a unit would show on a unit report has been fixed

Calendar Reminders

An issue that caused calendar reminders created by the Den Leader Experience to be sent multiple time has been fixed.

Cub Scout Rank Quick Entry

An issue that prevented Cub Scouts from appearing in the Cub Scout Rank Quick Entry has been fixed.

Export/Backup

The Export/Backup link for the Internet Advancement Activity Logs has been disabled until this function can be properly implemented. Currently Internet Advancement does not have the ability to export logs.

Merit Badge Counselor

An issue that prevented a Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) from modifying a Merit Badge that was previously MBC approved has been fixed. MBCs can change or remove the completion date on a Merit Badge they counsel until the badge is Leader Approved. The underlying requirements can be modified (added, changed or deleted) by the MBC at any time.

Merit Badge Counselor Upload

An issue that caused e-mails to be sent to existing Merit Badge Counselors (MBC) each time a Council uploaded its MBC list, even when no changes were made, has been fixed.

An issue that caused a Merit Badge Counselor’s (MBC) Listing Preference to be reset to Council each time a new list was uploaded has been fixed. Existing MBCs will not have the Listing Preference changed on subsequent list uploads.

Order of the Arrow (OA) Eligibility Report

An issue in the OA Eligibility Report that caused the rank date to be filled in when the Scout had not yet earned the Scout rank has been fixed.

NEW FEATURES

Adult Connection Cleaner

Note: the issue that caused this feature to be quickly hidden last week has been fixed. A feature to remove old connections from an adult account has been added. On the user’s My Connection page is a Clean Old Connection button. This button will remove connections to Scouts that are not members of a unit where the adult is a leader or their Scout is a member. Merit Badge Counselors (MBC) will additionally have a Clean Old MBC Connection button. This button will remove the Merit Badge connection from any Scout who has completed the Merit Badge and it is Counselor and Leader approved or the Merit Badge has been removed from the Scout’s advancement page.

Export Backup

The Export/Backup function for the legacy Camping, Hiking, Long Cruise and Service logs has been restored. This will allow units who are concerned that the logs may have been incorrectly migrated to the new logs to look for discrepancies.

May 29, 2020 Scoutbook Updates - Adult Connection Cleaner Removed.

OVERVIEW: This update removes the previously released Adult Connection Cleaner due to a bug.

BUG FIXES

Adult Connection Cleaner

Due to an issue found this morning, the Adult Connection Cleaner has been temporarily removed. We are still investigating root cause but we believe the issue is caused by using the Clean Old MBC Connections button when the adult has the MBC connection check box set but no MBs are selected for that Scout. The feature will be returned to production after the issue is fixed.

May 21, 2020 Scoutbook Update

OVERVIEW: This update adds a new feature for Merit Badge Counselors to mark requirements complete more easily and changes the way in which Scout leadership positions are handled when reassigning Scouts between patrols. It also fixes numerous bugs related to the calendar, history reports, advancements, awards, payment log entries, and site navigation.

BUG FIXES

Calendar URL

An issue that caused an error when saving a calendar entry when there were any spaces in the Map URL field has been fixed. Spaces will automatically be removed from the Map URL field before saving.

Cub Scouts & Scouts BSA History Reports

An issue affecting access to the Cub Scouts & Scouts BSA History Reports from the Reports Menu on My Dashboard has been fixed. Unit Admins and Committee Secretaries now have access.

International Spirit Award

The patch image for the International Spirit Award will be displayed on the Scout’s page when earned.

Payment Log Quick Entry

An issue that caused the Payment Log Quick Entry option to be removed has been fixed. Payment Log Quick Entry will once again be displayed for Unit Admins and Unit Treasurers.

Parent Youth Protection Training

An issue that prevented Youth Protection Training for parents from being sent to Scoutbook has been fixed. This fix allows the the volunteer written and supported Feature Assistant Extension for Scoutbook for Chrome and Firefox Show Adult YPT Status report to show correct Parent YPT status. See Feature Assistant - What is it? for details on the Feature Assistant Extension.

Print Blue Card

An issue that allowed adults to see the names of Scouts they are not connected to on the Print Blue Card screen has been fixed. Users will only see Scouts to which they have a connection.

Scout Membership

An issue that returned the user to the dashboard when ending a youth membership in a unit has been fixed. The user will now remain on the Scout’s membership page.

NEW FEATURES

Merit Badge Quick Complete

When the Merit Badge Quick Complete function is used by a Merit Badge Counselor connected to the Scout, the completed requirements will be marked Counselor Approved. To activate Merit Badge Quick Complete, click in the white background of a Merit Badge page. A date field will appear at the bottom of the window. Set the desired date then click on the requirement complete boxes to set the requirement complete.

Scout Leadership Positions

When a Scout’s membership in a unit is ended, all leadership positions in the unit will also be ended. If moving Scouts to a new Patrol, we recommend using the Reassign Scout button on the Den or Patrol roster page. Using the Reassign Scout function will only end Patrol leadership positions, not unit leadership positions.

MAY 20, 2020 Scoutbook Updates - History Reports

OVERVIEW

This update corrects an issue with History Reports from the dashboard and enables producing reports on former Scouts and adult leaders.

BUG FIXES

* An issue that caused the Cub Scout and Scouts BSA History Reports to return an error with code 99 when run from the Dashboard reports menu by entering the individual’s BSA Member ID and the individual did not have a Cub Scout or Scouts BSA membership recorded in Scoutbook has been fixed. This fix allows the BSA History Report to be run on former Scouts (including adult leaders) that did not have membership recorded in Scoutbook.

May 18, 2020 Scoutbook Updates - MBC Upload

The Council Admin Manage Approved Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) function has been restored.

BUG FIXES

The following issues have been fixed:

* Upload left some MBCs off of the list
* Uploading a MBC list that was just downloaded generates errors.
* MBC upload not adding new badges to existing counselors
* Zip code with leading zeros rejected as an invalid value.

User tickets fixed by this release are SSD-99126, SSD-101236 and SSD-101648.
