Waymakers Huntington Beach Youth Shelter 20th Anniversary Celebration is just around the corner!

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of providing safe shelter, hope, and healing through community. We invite you to commemorate this milestone with us on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at our Open House and the culmination of our Change for Change Campaign.

Come connect with our community, reflect on two decades of impact, and help us celebrate the journey that has brought us here.

*Tours will begin at 4:30 p.m.

All throughout the month of May, Waymakers connected with youth across North Orange County to collect pledges and personal reasons why they choose to live substance-free. Their powerful messages and stories will be displayed all summer long on a community bulletin board at and now we’re inviting YOU to be part of it too!⁣

Join us for a special community gathering where youth, families, and community members can add their own pledge, read inspiring messages from others, and stand together in support of healthy, substance-free lifestyles.⁣

Want to join a dedicated team and learn how our community comes together to support survivors?

We are officially opening registration for our 48-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training. This comprehensive training equips you with the tools to provide vital, compassionate care when survivors need it most.

What you’ll be able to do:
After completing the training, you’ll be eligible to serve as a volunteer advocate supporting survivors on our 24-hour Sexual Assault Hotline, and/or providing in-person hospital support during forensic exams.

Help Us Create a Peaceful Space for Youth!

Waymakers Tustin Youth Shelter 2 is hoping to create a Backyard Meditation Corner. A quiet outdoor space where youth can step away, breathe, reflect, and find a moment of peace.
For many of the teens we serve, having a calming environment can make a meaningful difference during difficult times.

We’re looking for community members, businesses, and volunteers who would like to help bring this small but impactful project to life.

Needed items may include:
🌿 Potted plants
💧 Small water fountain
🪑 Adirondack/reclining chairs
🪨 Steppingstones
🕯️ Outdoor décor
☀️ Small table

The project is estimated at around $600 total, and setup would only require a few volunteer hours.

If you’d like to donate items, sponsor part of the project, or help with installation, please reach out. Together, we can help create a safe and calming space for youth healing from trauma and crisis.

🛹 A huge THANK YOU to the incredible women of for once again choosing to support Waymakers through their annual Mother’s Day fundraiser at Laguna Niguel Skate Park.

For more than 20 years, this amazing community has empowered women through skateboarding while giving back to children and teens in need — and we are so grateful to have been part of that mission for many years.

This year, Waymakers Program Director of Victim Assistance Programs, Michelle Heater, had the opportunity to attend and witness firsthand the strength, joy, and support this group brings together. Seeing women of all ages come together to “shred for charity” in support of survivors of human trafficking was truly inspiring.

Your compassion, energy, and continued belief in our mission help make healing and hope possible for the youth and families we serve throughout Orange County. Thank you for standing with Waymakers and for making such a meaningful impact in our community. 💙

Please share and support victim services. You never know when you or someone you love may become the victim of a violent crime. In those moments, access to critical support services and funding can make all the difference in helping survivors find safety, healing, and hope.

Survivors of crime need $100 million in state funds to support the life-saving services they depend on to heal after violent crimes. While we appreciate Governor Gavin Newsom including $25 million toward these services, being short $75 million means devastating cuts to emergency housing, mental health counseling, and more.
Gavin Newsom, join the Senate, Assembly, and Legislative Women's Caucus, and include the full $100 million in the final budget to support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, child abuse, and more.
