Our Waymakers Victim Witness Assistance Program team at the Central Justice Center is ready to take on the day in their new Waymakers zip-ups and cardigans, with their offices decked out for Halloween.

We’re grateful for the dedicated people who show up every day to support victims and witnesses as they navigate difficult moments and find their way toward strength and stability.

A little team pride, a little Halloween fun, and a whole lot of heart. That’s something worth celebrating! 🧡

Celebrating 20 years of community, collaboration, and support!

Waymakers’ Sexual Assault Victim Services team was honored to join the Orange County Family Justice Center for their 20th Anniversary celebration this past Saturday!

For two decades, the Orange County Family Justice Center has brought together law enforcement, victim advocates, social services, and community partners under one roof to help individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and other forms of violence access the support and resources they need.

As a partner providing victim advocacy services at the Family Justice Center, we are proud to be part of this collaborative community.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, braved the heat, and celebrated with us! We had such a great time connecting with community members, meeting new faces, and celebrating the people and partnerships that make this work possible.

Here’s to 20 years of the Orange County Family Justice Center and many more years of working together to build safer, stronger communities!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence can affect people of every age, background, and circumstance. This month and every month, Waymakers stands with survivors, raises awareness, and works to build safer communities where everyone can live free from violence and abuse.

How can you help?

💜 Educate Yourself — Learn the signs of domestic violence and how to safely support someone experiencing abuse.

💜 Share Resources — Help connect survivors and those who care about them with trusted domestic violence support services and resources.

💜 Support Local Organizations — Volunteer, donate, or partner with organizations working to prevent domestic violence and support survivors.

💜 Listen Without Judgment — Sometimes, the most important thing you can offer is compassion, understanding, and a safe space to be heard.

💜 Promote Healthy Relationships — Encourage respect, equality, healthy communication, and relationships free from fear and control.

💜 Use Your Voice — Challenge the stigma surrounding domestic violence and advocate for safer, stronger communities.

They rolled up their sleeves—and they didn’t leave a corner untouched!

A HUGE thank you to the incredible team from In-N-Out Burger® In-N-Out Burger Foundation for bringing their Serving Hope volunteer day to all three of Waymakers’ youth shelters!

Nearly 40 In-N-Out Associates, store managers, and area directors showed up ready to work, learn, and make a difference. They cleaned inside and out, tackled projects around the shelters, painted, assembled, and helped make these spaces feel even more welcoming for the young people we serve.

But what stood out just as much as the work was the energy they brought with them. Our teams shared how enthusiastic, positive, and genuinely excited the In-N-Out crew was to learn more about Waymakers and the young people and families we support.

This is what community partnership looks like. When people show up with their time, their talents, and a willingness to serve, the impact goes far beyond a single volunteer day.

Thank you, In-N-Out Burger, for choosing to Serve Hope with Waymakers and for investing in our Orange County youth shelters and the community we all call home. We are incredibly grateful for your support! 💙

Waymakers’ Dispute Resolution Services is offering Fall 2026 Mediation Training from October 8–24, 2026. This 40-hour hybrid training is designed for individuals who want to build practical mediation and conflict resolution skills while helping people navigate challenging situations with communication, compassion, and understanding.⁣
⁣
Participants will learn about the stages of mediation, active listening, handling strong emotions, balancing power, breaking deadlocks, ethical dilemmas, and working toward resolution. The training also offers pathways to volunteer, intern, observe, and co-mediate with Waymakers’ Dispute Resolution Services.⁣

A SECOND CHANCE CAN CHANGE A FUTURE.

At 17, Chloe was referred to Waymakers’ Juvenile Diversion Program by the Fountain Valley Police Department following an incident involving battery.

As part of her diversion plan, Chloe completed community service, participated in a Legal Awareness Workshop, and took part in anger management sessions designed to help her better understand her choices and develop healthier ways to manage emotions.

During the Legal Awareness Workshop, Chloe learned more about the legal and personal consequences of her actions. Afterward, she shared:

“This had a lot of information that I did not know. I feel even more grateful for this opportunity.”

Her words reflected something important: a willingness to learn, take accountability, and make different choices moving forward.

Throughout the program, Chloe worked on developing healthier coping strategies and strengthening her emotional regulation and impulse control. And her growth didn’t stop when she completed the program.

In a recent update to her Case Manager, Chloe shared that she continues to participate in weekly therapy and remains focused on managing her emotions and responding to challenges in healthier ways.

Chloe’s story is an example of how early intervention, accountability, education, and supportive services can help young people move forward.

Through Waymakers’ Juvenile Diversion Program, youth have the opportunity to learn from challenging experiences, build new skills, and create a stronger foundation for their future.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to find a way forward.

Thank you to Global Hope 365 for having us representing the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force at the Walk/Run to End Child Marriage and Human Trafficking in Irvine.⁣

We’re grateful to Irvine Mayor Larry Agran, Irvine Police Department, and Councilmember Melinda Liu for supporting this important event and bringing our community together to raise awareness.⁣
⁣
It was also a meaningful opportunity to celebrate California’s passage of AB 1267, establishing 18 as the legal minimum age for marriage in California, with no exceptions.⁣
⁣
We’re proud to stand alongside fellow community members, organizations, and leaders who are working to raise awareness, prevent exploitation, and help end human trafficking.⁣
