Jewish Federation of Orange County

Jewish Federation of Orange County Jewish Federation of Orange County (JFedOC) brings together our diverse community for shared experiences grounded in Jewish culture, values and traditions.

The foundation of JFOC's work is our cultivation of philanthropy through dedicated giving societies, emergency assistance, programs and grants. We unite in combating Antisemitism and the delegitimization of Israel through education, advocacy, and outreach. We open doors to Jewish life through purposeful programming for young children and their families; opportunities for young adults paving a path

to future leadership. JFOC fosters a deeper connection to each other, strengthening Jewish life in our OC community, in Israel and around the world.

Today is Holocaust Survivor Day.

Sam Silberberg is one of 145 Holocaust survivors living right here in Orange County. His story is a powerful reminder of resilience, courage, and the importance of ensuring survivors are cared for, honored, and never forgotten.

While we celebrate survivors like Sam and the generations they helped build, many still rely on community support for vital services, resources, and care.

💙 Thanks to the KAVOD Survivors of the Holocaust Emergency Fund (SHEF), every dollar donated will be matched up to $36,000—doubling your impact.

This Holocaust Survivor Day, join us in showing up for survivors. Together, we can help ensure that survivors like Sam live their remaining years with the dignity, care, and support they deserve.

On Memorial Day, remember the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation's freedom.

We honor all veterans and the Jewish veterans, in particular, and are grateful for their courage and commitment to the values we hold dear. May their memory be a blessing.

Chag Shavuot Sameach from all of us at Jewish Federation of Orange County. đź’™

"What is a new blessing in your life?"

This Shavuot, Rabbi Joshua Stanton invites us to reflect on the meaning of “harvest” in our modern lives—not only in what we grow, but in what we learn, the connections we build, and the ways we uplift one another.

As we receive the Torah anew, may we recognize the many blessings around us and the “multitudes of good” that strengthen our global Jewish family.

On Yom HaZikaron, Jewish Federation of Orange County stands with Israel in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending Israel, and all victims of terrorism.

Together, we stand together in mourning, healing, and rebuilding in the wake of October 7th.

Today, we commemorate the fallen. Tomorrow, we continue to build the future they fought to protect.

Tonight, as Yom HaShoah begins, we pause to honor the six million Jewish lives stolen in the Holocaust, and the survivors whose courage and resilience continue to inspire generations.

We remember their stories.
We carry their legacy.
And we commit to Never Again.

As we gather around the Seder table this Passover, we retell the story of our journey from bo***ge to freedom — a story of resilience, responsibility, and Jewish continuity.

Passover reminds us that Jewish life endures because each generation chooses to care for one another and protect what matters most.

Today, that also means ensuring our community can gather safely.

Through SecureOC, Jewish Federation of Orange County is helping safeguard our synagogues, schools, and community spaces — so Jewish families can gather, celebrate, and live proudly with confidence and peace of mind.

Through a national partnership, every $2 invested locally helps unlock an additional $1 in funding to strengthen security across our community.

This Passover, we invite you to help protect and strengthen Jewish life in Orange County.

From generation to generation, we carry it forward.

Chag Pesach Sameach.
