🌸 August Yard of the Month! 🌸

Congratulations to James and Tahna Hummel, our August Yard of the Month winners at 1510 Charlotte St.! 🏡🌷

This beautiful flower bed is especially meaningful because it’s brand new—and was a gift from James to his wife, Tahna. ❤️

James worked on the bed intermittently while tackling other home repairs, finally completing it this summer. He carefully cut out the winding design and filled it with flowers that will return and bloom year after year. 🌼🌿

We love seeing the thought, time, and love that goes into creating beautiful spaces in our community. Congratulations, James and Tahna, and thank you for helping make Ironton bloom! 🌸💚

Every year brings new challenges, and this year was no different. While we’ve been incredibly grateful to welcome several new sponsors, the cost of caring for and maintaining all the flowers throughout our community continues to grow.

What makes Ironton In Bloom so special is the pride our community takes in creating a beautiful place to live, work, and visit. Our flowers require nearly daily care, and behind every bloom is a group of volunteers, sponsors, and community members who believe in making Ironton a little brighter.

As we look ahead to next year, we hope to continue building on what we’ve started rather than scaling back. With the continued support of our community, we can keep Ironton blooming and make an even greater impact together.

🐝 Bobcat Academy – Day 2! 🐝

Like the bees, we’ve been busy as ever, so sorry for the late post—but we couldn’t wait to share!

Participants recreated bee houses while learning where carpenter bees live and how they create their homes. It was a fun, hands-on activity that helped everyone learn more about these important pollinators, and we had a great time!

A special thank you to everyone who donated tin cans to help make this learning experience possible. Your generosity helped bring this project to life, and we truly appreciate your support! 💛

It was an un-bee-lievable first day for us at Bobcat Academy through Ohio University-Southern! 🐝🌼

We had a blast teaching the kids about pollination, why pollinators are so important, and how they help our flowers, gardens, and food grow. We wrapped up the day with our Pollination Relay Race, and everyone had so much fun!

We’ll bee seeing you tomorrow! 🐝
