The Friends of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting our local library system.

Through fundraising, advocacy, and community events, we help support our libraries across Lawrence County.

🚨 The FCC is trying to defund library internet access! 🚨

The federal E-Rate program has long provided libraries and schools with deep discounts on internet services so that they can provide reliable wi-fi and internet services to you and other patrons. This is an amazing FREE service that the library provides, and it is currently at risk!

The American Library Association has provided instructions for filing a public comment with the FCC here: https://tinyurl.com/saveerate

The Schools Health & Libraries Broadband Coalition has provided more instructions, as well as more letter templates for comments, here: https://www.shlb.org/save-our-e-rate

After postponing for the rain last week, it's time to have a Friends meeting!

The Friends of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library will be holding a meeting TOMORROW, July 28, at 6 pm on the 1st floor of the Ironton Library. We hope to see you there!
