Last week marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we officially broke ground on a new pool and shower house at Camp Dellwood! We also celebrated 10 years of the Founders Lodge Event & Conference Center! Thanks to United Way of Central Indiana for making a generous gift to enable this incredible experience for our campers and Girl Scouts! As we celebrate 100 years of Camp Dellwood throughout 2026, this is another amazing example of how this beautiful property brings our community together.

Today is International Day of the Girl—a day to celebrate the strength, potential, and limitless possibilities of every girl. ✨ And in Indiana, the data tells us there is so much to celebrate: girls are graduating high school at record rates, enrolling in college at higher rates than boys, and showing incredible resilience.

But the 2026 Indiana Girl Report also reminds us that girls need more than opportunities—they need connection, belonging and adults who believe in them. For example, 25.8% of Indiana girls ages 6–17 have negative feelings about their body image. Girls also continue to experience higher levels of emotional and social challenges, with higher rates of mental health issues.

Every girl deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to become who she is meant to be. That’s why Girl Scouts exists: to give girls a place to build confidence, discover their strengths, form meaningful relationships, and lead in their communities. Today, and every day, let’s listen to girls, invest in girls, and make sure every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
