Come join the last Vandalia Trail Brisk Bike Rides of the season and first ride of spring this Saturday morning. It looks like it will be more spring-like than brisk! We depart at 9:00 from the southeast corner of the Meijer parking lot in Plainfield, near Dan Jones Rd just north of US 40 and will grab a bite to eat at Metro Diner after.

Looking forward to using this new logo in Indianapolis!

After 20+ years of nice segments of the Vandalia Trail being developed by several organizations with their own special styles and features, a common logo available for all has been developed (See Article: https://nrht.org/vandalia/page.php?p=news&sp=2026-01-13).

Many thanks to the impetus and funding from the Greater Indy Trailways (https://thetrailways.com/) initiative and from the Central Indiana Community Foundation and Lilly Endowment. Many thanks, also, to the many trail enthusiasts who provided input. We will use this logo going forward to highlight the current and future connectivity of the various trail segments.

Here's another chance to provide trail input, this time for the Vandalia Trail logo design. Check it out!

The Vandalia Trail can finally get a logo! Here's a great opportunity to give your input on a logo design to share across the various sections of the Vandalia Trail.

Many thanks to the Connected Communities initiative by Central Indiana Community Foundation and smallbox.com consultants for this opportunity!

In 2024, the Central Indiana Regional Trails Initiative (now Greater Indy Trailways) conducted research about trail usage in Marion County and the surrounding counties, uncovering a need for a cohesive visual system to encourage trail use across our region. Now, SmallBox is assisting with the creation of new and updated trail logo art with funding provided by Connected Communities (part of the Central Indiana Community Foundation). While incorporating trails into a visual system developed with Greater Indy Trailways, every logo is driven by engagement with champions of each trail and the communities that support it. Once ready, this art and other resources will be made available to those who support and maintain the trail—from city departments to trail associations—to be used at their discretion in trail signage and other touchpoints.

What's in a trail name? Weigh in with your thoughts in this survey for west Indy's future trail along the East Fork of White Lick Creek that also will meander into Plainfield. Should the planned name be changed from "White Lick Creek Greenway" which often is confused with the existing White Lick Creek Trail further west, and, if so, what would be more descriptive and clear?

What a great day on the trail! 🚴‍♀️🌳

Oct. 11th - We were proud to sponsor and take part in the Airport Loop & Recreational Bike Ride, supporting the White Lick Creek and Vandalia Trail Alliance.

It was a special day of community, connection, and movement, all in honor of Leonard Stringer, longtime president of the Trail Alliance and a true champion of these local paths.

Our team had a wonderful time riding together and giving back to a cause that keeps our community connected. We were also thrilled to have our friends Dick Whicker and Bob Staton join us for the ride!💚
