Camptown Transforming lives of urban youth through outdoor adventures that build character, confidence and hope since 1991. Camptown is not a residential camp.

Programs take place on both public and private lands throughout the United States. Camptown uses outdoor wilderness adventures such as backpacking, canoeing, and mountain biking to teach leadership, teamwork, character development, diversity, history, and environmental stewardship to youth from all walks of life. We instill, in each youth participant, environmental awareness and stewardship, effective leadership and teamwork skills, awareness of personal choices and consequences, a vision expanded beyond current life circumstances, responsibility, respect for others, and self-confidence.

Trolls, hiking, and climbing… oh my! Youth leaders spent the past few days out in Red River Gorge participating in a lot of wonderful activities.
From new friendships to new heights, these students were very courageous and supportive of one another. We love our youth leaders!

We are really proud of this group from Lawrence North High School. They challenged themselves to some of the toughest trails at Turkey Run and Shades State Park. What a beautiful couple of days to be on the trails and camping. This year’s dinner was a little elevated as well with pulled pork, venison burgers and stakes, with Mac& cheese and baked beans. We finished with our traditional Black Forest Cake and S’mores.
