Some places teach history. Others help you feel it.

The third cohort of the Maurer Koach Program recently returned from a powerful journey through Poland and Prague, exploring more than 1,000 years of Jewish life, resilience, and renewal.

Participants bore witness to the tragedies of the Holocaust at Auschwitz-Birkenau, Madjanek, and Terezín, explored the historic Jewish quarters of Krakow, Warsaw, and Prague, and heard impactful testimony from a Holocaust survivor.

They also witnessed the joy and promise of Jewish life today by celebrating Shabbat with the Jewish community of Krakow, visiting the ORT school in Prague, and meeting with community leaders across Poland and the Czech Republic.

Along the way, the cohort had opportunities to learn, reflect, and connect with each other and the Jewish past. They’ve returned home with a deeper sense of purpose, community, and identity; we can’t wait to see what these incredible leaders do next.

This National Financial Planning Month, we’re celebrating just a few of the many donors who have made legacy gift commitments to support Jewish life in Indianapolis for generations to come 💙

Through thoughtful financial and estate planning, these donors are ensuring lasting support for the elements of Jewish life they care about most.

This month and always, we express our gratitude for those whose philanthropy supports vibrant Jewish life and growth 🌳

The Federation has been bringing Indianapolis Jews together for over 100 years 🗓️

📸 This photo is just one of countless pieces of our history, and we can’t wait to bring more to light at next month’s Life & Legacy celebration!

Do you know what year this photo was taken at the Communal Building, the predecessor to our location on Hoover Road?

Community has the power to heal 💙

The Federation was honored to host a memorial for those lost on October 7th in Israel and create a space for us all to unite in the face of tragedy.

🫂Despite the pain we’ve felt, joining together allowed us to engage in spirituality and growth, helping us move forward with strength.
