A holiday lunch to remember!
JFS Thrive and Hooverwood Living partnered to host a special holiday luncheon, bringing together 50+ older adults to enjoy a delicious meal, live music, and floral arranging. Rabbi Schusterman shared the meaning and traditions of Sukkot and students from the Hasten Hebrew Academy volunteered to serve meals.
The luncheon reflects the shared commitment of Jewish Family Services and Hooverwood Living to supporting the well-being of older adults and fostering a strong sense of belonging.
“These events are so much more than a meal—they provide an opportunity for our older adult community to come together, build connections, share in special moments, and feel a true sense of belonging,” said Sally Catlin, Older Adult Social Worker at Jewish Family Services.
“Working together to create special moments like this just makes sense. We’re always excited for opportunities to engage with our community, bring people together, and make the season feel a little more meaningful,” added Brooke Hendricks of Hooverwood Living.
“I love the Thrive program because it respects older adults by bringing us together for events that are engaging, build our capabilities, and offer social interactions. We feel heard and seen as vital members of the community.” shared one Thrive participant.
Through partnerships like this, JFS Thrive and Hooverwood Living continue to create meaningful experiences that help older adults thrive.
