“Vodou Unveiled” is Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s 13th annual Halloween show. This year’s immersive performances emanate from the Haitian culture of Vodou and will draw audiences into a ceremonial atmosphere of zombies, spirits, and magic.

Dancers from the Fort Wayne community, and the professional dancers of the FWDC Touring Company, will perform pieces that feature hip hop, contemporary, and modern dance genres. With the inclusion of five artists from the Jacmel Arts Center of Haiti ( ), the performances will also showcase dances inspired by Haitian culture to deliver a one-of-a-kind show!

Live performances of “Vodou Unveiled” will be held at the Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab at 300 E Main St, on October 22nd (8:00pm), October 23rd (8:00pm) and October 24th (2:00pm). Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 260.422.4226 or visiting fwdc.org.

The motto of Haiti is "L'Union fait la force," which means "Union makes strength."

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti that they can get through these difficult times together.

Political instability, the lasting effects of a devastating earthquake and a cholera epidemic, foreign political interventions and gang violence have all taken their toll on this nation.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! Due to an increase in COVID cases in parts of Haiti the Ministry of Education has been ramping up their efforts in protecting children at school. First this meant requiring masks in school again and limiting large gatherings with members of the community for end of the year events. This quickly changed to choosing to once again close schools. The school calendar is still off set due to the last round of closures and was to finish the last week in June with all end of the year events finalizing in the first week of July. Now students will start their last round of testing on Monday and school will be done for the year on Friday June 11th. However our 9th grade students will continue to come to school to prepare for the National Exam which will still take place on its originally scheduled dates of July 12, 13, and 14. Please pray for our students as this sudden switch in the schedule eliminates time they normally would have spent preparing for this final round of exams which makes up a quarter of their overall grade. Pray for peace in their hearts and minds and for good retention during study sessions.

Zanmi Fondwa has launched our first reforestation project. Under the direction of Agronomists, Enel and Jean Eddy, 22 Fondwa residents have work. Some of the workers are ZF Homeowners who deposit their wages towards paying off their new house. We are thrilled to be supporting the community both economically and environmentally. To be part of this journey, please donate at www.zanmifondwa.com/give.

From the festivities in the other week.... this beauty, Kaleigha, was the best dressed in her red and blue! Sher took a keen interest in the PeaceCYCLE products and we hope she can be inspired to be a peacemaker throughout her life! 🇭🇹
