We provide leadership, advocacy & early childhood education services across Indiana.

Early Learning Indiana provides leadership, advocacy, and early childhood education services to continually improve the early learning landscape in Indiana. We have three core programs: Day Early Learning centers, Child Care Answers resource and referral services, and Partnerships for Early Learners statewide projects.

Today, we kicked off Early Learning Indiana’s inaugural Civic Impact Academy!

We welcomed leaders from across Indiana’s business, government, economic development and civic sectors for a day of learning, discovery and conversation about one of the most important investments we can make in our state’s future: our youngest learners.

Participants explored why the early years are so critically important to lifelong learning and development, took part in a hands-on activity building brains to better understand how early experiences shape brain development, and learned from nationally recognized early childhood expert and Harvard University professor Dr. Junlei Li.

We’re excited to bring this inaugural cohort together over the coming months to explore how cross-sector leadership and collaboration can help create stronger outcomes for children, families and communities across Indiana.

Because when we invest in the earliest years, we invest in Indiana’s future.

Thank you to Fletcher Place Community Center INC for opening your doors to our latest Expert Voices session, Reimagining the Studio: Deepening Inquiry in the Early Childhood Classroom.

With Christopher Nunn of Much Ado Museums, educators explored new ways to nurture children’s curiosity, creativity and self-expression through hands-on learning.

We’re especially grateful to the educators who chose to spend their Saturday learning, reflecting and deepening their practice. Their commitment makes a difference in creating environments where children can explore, ask questions and discover the world around them. 💛

When communities come together, stronger solutions become possible.

Last week, leaders from Bartholomew, Montgomery and St. Joseph counties gathered with Early Learning Indiana to share ideas, learn from one another and discuss how to strengthen early childhood education in their communities.

As many communities navigate changing childcare landscapes, local leaders are working to better understand the needs of children and families while ensuring they have access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Conversations explored emerging trends, including shrinking infant and toddler care options, how employers can be engaged as partners in supporting families and ways to continue prioritizing high-quality learning as community needs evolve.

Community-led planning is underway, and we're excited to see how each community builds on its unique strengths to create solutions that work for local children, families and communities.

Recently, team members from all 10 Day Early Learning schools and our statewide office came together in Indianapolis and West Lafayette to connect, recharge and enjoy a little fall fun.

Taking time to be together reminds us that we’re part of something bigger than any one role or school. We’re a team, united by a shared commitment to supporting children, families and one another.

What happens when generosity meets possibility? Children get more space to learn, explore, imagine and thrive.

Yesterday, we gathered with an incredible community of donors and supporters to celebrate the meaningful impact of investing in young children, families and communities across Indiana — and to unveil a new playground at the Lilly Family Center, our oldest Day Early Learning school.

This beautiful new space is more than a playground. It’s a reminder of what generosity can make possible: joyful places where children can be curious, build confidence, create memories and lay the foundation for a bright future.

To everyone who gives their time, resources and belief in what’s possible for Indiana’s youngest learners: thank you. Your generosity helps create stronger beginnings and brighter futures.

We love seeing the ideas from our Expert Voices sessions come to life in early learning classrooms!

Dianne Hands from Helping HANDS Daycare recently joined us for Exploring Data Analysis and Computation: A Mathematical Journey for 2-5 Year Olds. As part of her participation, she received classroom materials to bring these learning experiences back to her children. We’re excited to see them putting the materials to use!

From exploring patterns and numbers to building early problem-solving skills, young children have so many opportunities to develop mathematical thinking through everyday play and discovery. We’re thrilled to see educators bringing these ideas into their classrooms!
