The mission of the Tahoe Prosperity Center is uniting Tahoe's communities to strengthen regional prosperity.

Our Vision is a prosperous, sustainable, healthy Lake Tahoe. We believe you should be able to live, work and play in Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Prosperity Center is an innovative nonprofit collaborative created to champion the prosperity initiatives identified in the 2010 Lake Tahoe Basin Prosperity Plan. Using a regional stewardship model among existing entities, the TPC is bridging the fragmented gov

erning system and speaking in one voice to support the long-term economic, social and environmental health of the entire Basin. Collaboration is the foundation of the Tahoe Prosperity Center.

Next in our “Meet Our Board” series is Jason Jurss, owner of Happy Tiers Bakery in Incline Village! 🧁

Jason has spent his career in the hospitality industry, working his way through nearly every level of the business— from dishwasher to regional manager, operating partner, and eventually business owner. Together with his wife, Andrea, he has helped grow Happy Tiers from a home-based cake business into a thriving Lake Tahoe community staple.

That firsthand experience has also shaped Jason’s passion for supporting other entrepreneurs. He understands the unique challenges of starting and growing a business, particularly in Tahoe, and is committed to helping aspiring business owners navigate obstacles, adapt, and succeed.

We’re grateful to have Jason’s entrepreneurial experience and small-business perspective on the TPC Board!

Meet Board Member Kimberly! ✨

Next in our Meet Our Board series is Kimberly Templeton. Kimberly brings extensive experience in business development, hospitality, community engagement, and regional advocacy. As Director of Catering & Event Sales at Edgewood Tahoe, she has helped manage major events that contribute to the region’s economy, including the American Century Championship.

Her commitment to the Tahoe region extends well beyond her professional role. Kimberly has served with organizations including the Reno Tahoe Territory, South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, and Tahoe Youth & Family Services, bringing a strong passion for community service, collaboration, and philanthropy.

We’re grateful for the experience, energy, and regional perspective she brings to the TPC Board!

Next in our “Meet Our Board” series is Gloria Stearns, a member of our TPC Board and Finance Committee. Gloria serves as Placer County’s Economic Development and Housing Director, where she works to better connect business and housing needs through innovative programs, partnerships, and advocacy.

Her career spans economic development, housing, community revitalization, and technology, with leadership experience in communities across California and the Midwest. Throughout her work, Gloria has helped attract investment, create jobs, expand housing opportunities, and support stronger, more resilient communities.

We’re grateful for Gloria’s extensive experience and the valuable perspective she brings to the Tahoe Prosperity Center Board as we work to strengthen economic opportunities throughout the Tahoe Basin. ⛰️

Meet our Board Treasurer! 💼

Next in our “Meet Our Board” series is Bill Kelly. Bill brings decades of financial and business leadership experience to TPC. He began his career as a CPA and financial executive with Ernst & Young before spending 15 years as a financial and business development executive with Silicon Valley technology companies.

A longtime member of the Tahoe community, Bill also serves as Treasurer and Board Supervisor for the Nevada Tahoe Conservation District and has been involved with Rotary International for many years.

We’re grateful for the financial expertise, regional perspective, and dedication Bill brings to the TPC Board!

Next in our “Meet Our Board” series is Karen Fink. Karen serves as the Housing Program Manager at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, where she has worked since 2006 advancing housing, transportation, and land use planning throughout the Tahoe Basin.

Her passion for creating vibrant, connected communities extends beyond her work. As an avid bicycle commuter, transit rider, and outdoor enthusiast, Karen brings a unique perspective on the importance of thoughtful planning in preserving Tahoe's quality of life while supporting its future.

Before joining LTCC, she spent nearly two decades in California public policy and higher education leadership, helping shape programs and policies that strengthen educational opportunities across the state.
