A more connected approach to wildfire preparedness.

Wildfire resilience in Tahoe starts at home and it requires strong coordination across the entire Basin. Tahoe Community Foundation is proud to support this work through Fire Aside, a platform helping create a more consistent approach to defensible space and home hardening.

Fire Aside makes it easier for residents to understand their property’s wildfire risk, with clear visuals and actionable steps, while helping fire agencies spend more time working directly in the field.

What started as a pilot we funded, Fire Aside has grown into a basin-wide effort, bringing partners together and creating a clearer path toward a unified approach that strengthens wildfire prevention across our region.

Tahoe Forest Health System has launched True North, a community engagement initiative to gather input from 5,000 residents, patients, second homeowners, partners, and staff to guide future healthcare priorities.

As Anna Roth, President & CEO, shared: “This initiative is about listening first and building the future together.”

This year, our Giving for Good campaign reached a new milestone—our most successful year yet!

Each year, Tahoe Community Foundation’s Giving for Good focuses on raising funds for our community grantmaking programs. Because of our close, personal relationships with nonprofits across the region, your collective support goes directly and efficiently to the most critical needs—strengthening the people and places of Tahoe.

At the heart of Incline Village, a quiet transformation is taking place for our pets—powered by the generosity of Tahoe Community Foundation and our community. In 2025, $36,000 in grants helped Pet Network Lake Tahoe purchase advanced medical equipment, including a veterinary ICU, so pets like Tubbs could receive lifesaving care close to home.
These grants are more than just dollars—they’re hope for animals and families across the Tahoe Basin. When we come together to elevate generosity, we build a community that thrives.

Tahoe Housing Workshop – October 7 at Kings Beach!
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is working on solutions to make housing more affordable for locals—and your input matters.
📅 When: October 7, 5–8 p.m.
📍 Where: North Tahoe Event Center, Kings Beach, CA

Join TRPA for their third round of public workshops as part of the Cultivating Community, Conserving the Basin project. They will be sharing policy recommendations shaped by community feedback and the Tahoe Living Working Group.
