A more connected approach to wildfire preparedness.

Wildfire resilience in Tahoe starts at home and it requires strong coordination across the entire Basin. Tahoe Community Foundation is proud to support this work through Fire Aside, a platform helping create a more consistent approach to defensible space and home hardening.

Fire Aside makes it easier for residents to understand their property’s wildfire risk, with clear visuals and actionable steps, while helping fire agencies spend more time working directly in the field.

What started as a pilot we funded, Fire Aside has grown into a basin-wide effort, bringing partners together and creating a clearer path toward a unified approach that strengthens wildfire prevention across our region.

Together, we are building safer, more prepared communities.

Caring for Tahoe’s environment takes commitment, care, and action. Through our grantmaking, Tahoe Community Foundation provides vital support to local nonprofit organizations working to protect our land, water, and wildlife to strengthen Tahoe’s environmental sustainability for generations to come.
