Classical Tahoe's mission is to present world-class performances, nurture community partnerships and provide educational programs that inspire, connect, and transform lives. Founded in 2012, the summer music festival and institute brings today’s most prominent musicians to Lake Tahoe’s North Shore for four weeks of orchestra, chamber music, and jazz concerts proudly presented on the campus of the

University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. The Classical Tahoe Orchestra is composed of many members of the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and other major orchestras around the world. The Classical Tahoe Music Institute provides education and engagement to students and the community through major programs including the Brubeck Jazz Summit, Classical Tahoe Academy, Musikgarten, Family Concert, and more. Featured Classical Tahoe performances are accessible to viewers worldwide through the PBS Reno broadcast series, “Classical Tahoe”. This October, Classical Tahoe’s 2026 Autumn Affaire brings together two extraordinary artists, flutist Demarre McGill and pianist Rodolfo Leone, for a special evening of chamber music at Tannenbaum - An Alpine Event Center.

Widely regarded as one of the leading flutists of his generation, Demarre McGill currently serves as Principal Flute of the Seattle Symphony and has performed as soloist with many of the nation’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the symphony orchestras of San Francisco, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Baltimore, Seattle, and San Diego. He also served as Principal Flute of the Classical Tahoe Orchestra during the festival’s first six seasons.

Joining him is pianist Rodolfo Leone, winner of First Prize at the 2017 International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, who has appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall, with the North Carolina, San Diego, Bozeman, and Pasadena Symphonies. A former Performance Today Young Artist in Residence, Leone currently serves on the piano and chamber music faculty at the Colburn School.

Hear them both in an intimate performance on Thursday, October 15 as part of an elegant evening of cocktails, chef-crafted dinner, and live music in support of Classical Tahoe.

The 2026 Festival is officially a wrap and what a summer music it’s been!

Our hearts are full as we thank our extraordinary musicians, amazing staff, and dedicated volunteers for their passion and commitment. A special shout-out also goes to our partners at University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe for hosting us once again on their beautiful campus for our 15th summer.

A huge thank you to our generous donors, sponsors, and partners. Your support allows us to bring world-class music to Lake Tahoe each summer and create these unforgettable, joyful moments. We couldn’t do it without you.
