For Margot Cahoon, Public Relations Director at Two Crows Creative, it all began at Residential Construction Career Day.

Her first introduction to the CIWB was at this signature event, where hundreds of local high school students explored careers in the building trades through hands-on experiences and conversations with industry professionals. It's an event that continues to inspire the next generation while connecting students to career opportunities right here on Cape Cod and the Islands.

"The community partners and tradespeople who participated were so enthusiastic and gave the students so much to think about, and look forward to, as they planned their careers after high school."

Congratulations again to Margot, recipient of the CIWB's 2026 Executive Director Award. Thank you for helping share the stories that highlight the impact of workforce development and for your continued support of programs likeRCCD. We're proud to celebrate your well-deserved recognition.

Meaningful partnerships are at the heart of the CIWB's mission, and we're grateful for the opportunity to work alongside community leaders like Jen Villa and the entire team at The West End.

From celebrating our ArtWorks participants to hosting networking events and staff gatherings, The West End has been a valued partner in creating spaces where connections are made and our community comes together.

"We've seen firsthand the impact MassHire has on individuals, employers, and our broader community. We deeply appreciate the work MassHire CIWB does to strengthen our regional workforce, create opportunities, and foster meaningful connections throughout our community. It has been a partnership we truly value, and we look forward to continuing to work together in the years ahead."

Congratulations again to The West End, one of the CIWB's 2026 Rising Star Award recipients. Thank you for your continued partnership, generosity, and commitment to strengthening Cape Cod and the Islands. Mentorship has the power to inspire, empower, and create lasting impact and Ashley Irene Dufresne exemplifies that through her continued partnership with the CIWB.

In her own words: "What I love most about my partnership with CIWB is the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow alongside so many incredible women. Many of the events I've attended have allowed me to serve as a mentor, sharing my experiences as a business owner with young women who are beginning their own journeys. While I hope I've been able to offer guidance and encouragement, I often find that I learn just as much from them as they learn from me. I always leave feeling motivated to do more, give more, and continue supporting the incredible community around me."

Congratulations again to Ashley, one of the CIWB's 2026 Rising Star Award recipients. Thank you for your passion, generosity, and dedication to uplifting others. Your impact reaches far beyond your business, and we're honored to celebrate your well-deserved recognition.

We're honored to share a special message from Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, who joined us virtually during the MassHire Cape & Islands Workforce Board's Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration on June 17. Thank you, Lieutenant Governor Driscoll, for your continued support of the MassHire network and workforce development across Massachusetts.

Last month, the CIWB proudly hosted our Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration, bringing together partners from across the Cape & Islands and the Commonwealth to celebrate the power of collaboration in strengthening our regional workforce.

We were honored to welcome State Representative Kip Diggs, Assistant Secretary for Career Education Bob LePage, and Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll (virtually), whose inspiring remarks reinforced the importance of investing in talent, expanding career pathways, and creating opportunities for individuals and employers across our region.

The celebration also provided an opportunity to recognize the outstanding individuals and organizations whose leadership, partnership, and commitment help advance the CIWB’s mission throughout the year. Each year, we proudly honor exceptional board members, educators, mentors, businesses, and community partners whose contributions make a lasting impact on our workforce system. We were especially proud to celebrate this year's scholarship recipients, an inspiring group of young adults whose dedication, achievements, and bright futures reflect the strength of our region's next generation of leaders.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the partnerships that make this work possible. We look forward to another year of working together to strengthen our workforce and support the success of employers, jobseekers, and young adults across the Cape & Islands.
