Celebrating 30 years of ArtWorks! 🎉

Thank you to our mentors, student artists, families, board members, community partners, and all who helped make our 30th Anniversary ArtWorks Celebration such a memorable evening. The exhibit showcased the incredible creativity, dedication, and talent of young artists from across the region while highlighting the meaningful impact of mentorship and artistic expression.

A special thank you to our host, Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, for welcoming us and providing the perfect space to celebrate the achievements of our student artists over this two-night exhibit.

We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to the success of ArtWorks over the past three decades and look forward to inspiring the next generation of artists for many years to come.

The CIWB was thrilled to participate in this year’s Big Blue, Green Tomorrow: Connecting the Dots.

Our very own Kara O’Donnell-Galvin, Executive Director of the CIWB, hosted the Breakfast & Fireside Chat on Mentoring and Youth Programming alongside our incredible community partners:

✨ Lee Moynihan, Sturgis Charter Public School
✨ Michael Looney, Mashpee Public Schools
✨ Janet Rocha, Falmouth High School - Massachusetts

The conversation highlighted the importance of mentorship, youth programming, and creating meaningful opportunities that connect young people to their futures — all while supporting stronger, more sustainable communities.

Thank you to the Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation and all involved for bringing together such an impactful event focused on collaboration, innovation, and growing our future workforce.

Last month, the MassHire CIWB proudly hosted our 2026 Regional Youth Symposium at the Hyannis Yacht Club — bringing together youth practitioners from across the region for an impactful day focused on youth mental health, workforce development, and supporting the next generation.

We are incredibly grateful to our outstanding speakers who shared their expertise, insight, and passion:

✨ Richard Guerry for leading an important conversation on responsible online communication and digital well-being
✨ Commonwealth Corporation President & CEO Molly Jacobson for speaking on expanding access to first jobs for youth and the importance of workforce development opportunities
✨ Grace Looney, BSN, RN, Founder & Creator of MindStrong, for sharing her innovative program and its impact on strengthening youth mental wellness
✨ JR Mell for sharing insights on data-driven change and innovating for the future of youth development

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such meaningful dialogue, and for your continued partnership in growing our future workforce.

A day of inspiration at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston 🎨✨

Recently, some of our ArtWorks students had the opportunity to explore the incredible collections at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Boston alongside their mentor, Karen. Karen has been a longtime mentor and dedicated supporter of the ArtWorks program, generously sharing her artistic talent, knowledge, and encouragement with young creatives over the years. Her commitment to mentoring the next generation of artists continues to make a lasting impact. Experiences like these remind us that art education extends far beyond the studio — offering inspiration, perspective, and connection through shared creative experiences.
