I am overjoyed and so grateful to receive the BIPOC Bookseller Award for Activism! Thank you to and for supporting BIPOC and other underrepresented voices in the literary world. Congratulations to fellow award recipients Jhoanna and Egypt for your incredible work!

A special thank you to my supporters, colleagues, collaborators, and community members here on the Cape (and beyond!). You really keep me going…

This activism award is for “the bookseller who goes above and beyond to advocate for BIPOC booksellers and literary representation, in their stores and communities.” I care deeply for my community and will continue my efforts to amplify underrepresented voices, create safe gathering spaces for joy and rest and push for racial equity.

Thanks

This week, depending on the weather and other conditions, the Fannin-Lehner Preservation company team will be on-site in Ancient Cemetery to work on stones in need of repair. As you can see on our website, photographs of their previous work illustrate the complexity of their process. It is a rare opportunity for us to see their preservation work in progress in real time.
You are welcome to watch while they work...at a respectful distance. Please refrain from disturbing them with questions until they invite you to do so, or take a break.
Funds from the Community Preservation Act, the Yarmouth Department of Public Works and Cemetery Division support this crucial Preservation work.

Kind regards,
Board, Friends of Ancient Cemetery
