Save a Life Day 2026 is coming to Cabell County on Thursday, September 24th, and we're looking for organizations, churches, businesses, and community groups to host a site!

This is a FREE, nationwide public health event focused on:
✅ Opioid overdose awareness
✅ Hands-on Narcan/naloxone training
✅ Free life-saving kit distribution

Hosting a site is a powerful way to bring this critical resource directly to YOUR neighborhood.

💜 Sites that hosted in previous years will be given FIRST CHOICE in their areas, but ALL interested organizations are welcome to sign up!

Wednesday, May 27th: Volunteer Day at SPECO! Stop by this Wednesday anytime from 10AM-2PM and help with projects such as prepping food pantry bags, organizing inventory, and more. Follow the signs and enter through the side yard in the courtyard. Let us know you’re coming by sending a message! 💪

Thursday, May 28th: Weekly Meal at Harmony House, located at 627 4th Ave, Huntington, WV. We will meet in front of Harmony House to begin serving around 11:45AM. Let us know ahead of time if you're planning to assist! ✨

PANTRY HOURS & INFO: The SPECO Food Pantry is open this week on Wednesday (10AM-2PM) and Thursday (12:30PM-2PM) to make arrangements for a pantry bag. Donations can be dropped off during these times as well. We will post weather updates to our story. Contact us by phone for questions and concerns (text preferred) at 681-554-5828. ❤

BLESSING BOX STOCK DAYS: We have adjusted our Blessing Box program due to changes in funding. Volunteers will stock the blessing box on Sundays, Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays at various times. On other days, please visit during pantry hours for a food pantry or blessing box go-bag. If you have questions, contact us via Messenger! ✨

Happy to be a part of this!

to one of our first Walk in Faith gatherings with the West End Faith Alliance ❤️
Looking back at one of our very first gatherings, it’s incredible to see how far this community has come. From those early planning meetings, to showing up month after month for our neighbors through the Walk in Faith Fellowship, to bringing the Care Trees to the West End, the West End Faith Alliance has been quietly, consistently planting seeds of love and service in this community. 🥰
And we’re not done yet.
This month, we’re excited to welcome our first guest speaker to the gathering, Jan Rader, whose work and witness have touched countless lives across our region. Speaker additions are new for us, and we hope they spark fresh inspiration and new ideas for how we can better serve together. ✨
We’re also collecting diapers of any size to support local families in need. If you’re able, bring a pack along! It’s a small act that makes a big difference for a neighbor right here in the West End. 🍼
Plus, warmer weather means perfect walking weather. ☀️ Come get to know your neighbors, connect with faith members and leaders from across the West End, and walk the neighborhood with us as we continue to show up for the people who call this community home.

Nobody in our community should have to choose between basic needs and their dignity. We’re proud to support this important work!

UWRC’s Week of Action: Project Period. will take place June 8–12. For the third year in a row, we’re focusing on period insecurity and working together to ensure more members of our community have access to the essential menstrual products they need each month.

We’re inviting you to get involved by volunteering at one of our six sites across the region we cover: Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, and Mason counties in West Virginia, and Gallia and Lawrence counties in Ohio.

Volunteers will help assemble period kits filled with tampons, pads, and wipes for distribution at each participating site. There are also opportunities to add a personal touch by writing encouraging messages and decorating small canvas bags included in each kit.

Each volunteer will receive a Project Period–branded water bottle as a thank-you for their time and support.

Every baby deserves dry diapers, and you can help! 🍼 Many families in our community are quietly struggling to afford diapers. They can't be purchased with food stamps, and going without has real consequences for babies and parents alike.

The West End Faith Alliance is collecting diapers of any size at this month's Walk in Faith Fellowship gathering. Drop off your donation and stay for an evening of community and a special presentation from guest speaker Jan Rader.
