Our organization is located within the heart of the West Huntington neighborhood called Central City. leads the movement to strengthen the West Huntington Neighborhood and Central City commercial district through preserving history, promoting arts and cultural tourism, coordinating events and programming, and welcoming new businesses and economic opportunities. Our mission serves the neighborhood development strategy in alignment with the City of Huntington's master plans for the area. If you'd like to start a new business in Central City, you can contact us to learn about the community and resources to help you get started. If you want to give back to the community, contact us to participate in beautification projects and other volunteer opportunities. Legacy & Love is joining us at Village Antiques this Saturday for Rags to Cultural Riches! Stop by their booth and check out their engraved and wood-burned artwork on a variety of items such as ornaments, wallets, keychains, and more. ✨

Spots are filling up! ❤ Don't forget to purchase a ticket to the Natural Dye Workshop with Kate McComas! 🤩✨ We are offering a morning session and an afternoon session this Saturday, October 17th. Learn a new skill with Kate's guidance and leave with a creation made by yourself! 🥰

Participants will learn to dye linen and cotton using natural materials, including walnut hulls and goldenrod. Each participant will leave with a complete set of six 8x8 fabric samples, representing each type of fabric dyed in multiple colors.

🔥This event is outdoors and over an open fire.

🎟 $20 per person (Limited seats; groups should reach out before purchasing tickets)

Paul Callicoat is taking the stage at Village Antiques & Art's Rags to Cultural Riches event, which is just ONE WEEK AWAY! 🤩🧵❤

✨ About the Artist:
Paul Callicoat has been playing, performing, producing, teaching, and writing music for 60 years in the Tri-State area of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. A veteran of many well-known regional bands and a sideman for many talented performers, he is considered a songwriter who sings mostly folk and acoustic-type music in the styles of Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Jackson Browne, and John Prine. As a songwriter, his themes are wide open. Callicoat has three solo records, and many of his songs are available for streaming. 🎤🤘

Paul's performance will happen next Saturday, Oct. 17th, around 1 p.m. during our Maker's Fair event. Bring a friend and join us in Central City! 🥰🥳

We are so excited to welcome Angel Eye Designs to Central City at Rags to Cultural Riches! This small business is owned and operated by the talented Lesia Angel. ✨🤩

💙 About the Artist:
Lesia Angel's love for art began in childhood, when she was given art supplies instead of toys. She attended a Waldorf school while growing up in Maryland near D.C., where creativity was encouraged and nurtured. Summers were later spent in her father's dental lab while living in Melbourne, Florida. She was given wax, plaster molds, and tools to enjoy while her dad worked. These early experiences helped spark her lifelong passions for sculpting, design, and handcrafts.

Join RenewAll and the City of Huntington for Project Lights On for the West Huntington Area TOMORROW, October 7 at 7 PM!

📍 Meet us at 901 Jefferson Ave (Historic Second Presbyterian Church) to pick up your map, instructions, and materials.

Project Lights On is a City of Huntington community safety initiative that brings together City officials, residents, neighborhood groups, and community partners to walk through neighborhoods, identify streetlights that are out, and record pole numbers and locations so we can submit them to AEP/Appalachian Power for repair. 💡

Put on your walking shoes and join us! 👟 Pens, clipboards, safety vests, and flashlights will be provided. Routes take about an hour and cover roughly 2 miles.

Help us get more streetlights working to improve visibility, neighborhood safety, and residents' sense of security in West Huntington. See you there!
