Our Executive Director, Christy Sylvester, sat down with Kim Kossie McKee for KSBJ's Community Beat, and the conversation aired this past Saturday morning on 89.3.

They talked about what happens when healthcare treats the whole person. Not just the diagnosis. Not just the prescription. But the neighbor sitting in front of you who has gone months without seeing a doctor and is carrying more than a medical condition.

That is the work God has entrusted to Casa. Medical care, dental care, and spiritual care, offered freely to Houston neighbors who have nowhere else to turn.

We are grateful to Kim and to the KSBJ team for making space to tell this story, and for a program that consistently lifts up the organizations serving Greater Houston.

🎉 We are officially OVER THE HALF-WAY MARK! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible hearts of donors like you, we have raised enough to fully sponsor 64 children for Happy Feet 2026! That is 64 precious kids who will head into the new school year with brand-new shoes, full backpacks, and hope for the days ahead. 👟🎒✨

“God was writing our story step by step, even when we could not see it ourselves.”

Many years ago, following a devastating hurricane, a local family found themselves in a very difficult season. They were facing mounting health challenges, deep financial struggles, and had no medical insurance. When they wondered how they would make it through, a friend told the mother, Alma, about Casa El Buen Samaritano.

What seemed like a simple medical recommendation became one of the greatest blessings their family would ever receive. 🌟

Alma came to our clinic looking for help with her physical health, but she found so much more than medical care. From her very first day, she was welcomed with kindness, compassion, and respect by Sister Vivian and our staff. They weren’t treated as just another appointment; they were treated like family. Over the years, the entire family became deeply involved.
