Friends of Westbury High School Foundation http://www.friendswhs.org/History.html The Friends of Westbury Foundation has been around for 20 years and has provided hundreds of students with scholarships.

These scholarships are donated by very generous individuals and companies. The scholarships and awards for honorees are presented at a Gala. Every year during the Gala there is a silent auction and all the proceeds go back into the scholarship fund for the following year. PLEASE VISIT THE WEBSITE AND DONATIONS ARE NEEDED TO CONTINUE HELPING THE STUDENTS FUTURE.

Maplewood S/N residents are invited to the 13th annual MusicFEST at the Willow Waterhole Greenway. The free event takes place on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This year's lineup kicks off with performances from our local neighborhood feeder schools, featuring jazz ensembles from Parker Elementary School, Meyerland Performing and Visual Arts Middle School, and Westbury High School. The afternoon and evening will include performances by the Jazz Houston Orchestra, Tianna Hall, Klockwork, Charlie y la Tribu Cubana, and headliner Skyrocket.

Attendees can also expect local food trucks, vendors, and family activities. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a full day of live music outdoors.

Trail construction at Westbury Lake is nearing completion. December's activities will include backfilling and grading along sides of the trails, hydromulching of grasses, some tree trimming, general cleanup, and clearing the construction camp. In the Spring you will start seeing wayfinding signage., the addition of more benches, and extension of the parking lot. This project was funded by the Harris County Precinct One Commissioner's Office. The new Triangle Lake Trail is completed except for the addition of benches. The other four lake trails will be completed by end of June 2024 in the sequence of Scout, Heron, Willow, and Prairie. These new trails have been funded by private foundations. The accessibility improvements will result in eight miles of new trails and four new parking areas when all done.
